Hey guys,

I started my crypto journey back in May 2017 where I aimed to reach 100K usd by the end of DEC with the starting capital of only $150.

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/j...ing-150-to-100-000-by-the-end-of-2017.941500/

I haven't been active on BHW for 1 year but now as I returned back, I've got several messages from the crypto community on BHW asking about my journey. I've learned a lot in this one year and I feel maybe I should share my experiences with you guys. In case you're wondering I haven't been able to hit my goal YET!

My portfolio peaked at 87k during my last 10 days of DEC and by FEB 20th I was hovering around 55k. Thats when I decided to convert everything into USDT until the market cap exceeds 650 billion and the daily volume exceeds 50 billion.

Here are few lessons I learned.

1. Trading is cool but the real money comes when you decide to invest long term.

I remember buying XPM (primecoin) worth 4.2 BTC at 1800 sats in OCT and selling it at 3000 sats in Late November. During the first week of May 2018 it surpassed 40k sats. lol

I also remember buying RIC (riecoin) at 1000 sats and selling at 800 sats because I was impatient. Just few days after I sold, it exceeded 3500 sats.

So the point is, hold it until it hits your target price.

2. I've always been an aggressive trader. I used to do some research on undervalued currencies with good volume and invest everything on it. This way, I either used to win BIG or lose BIG. Its best to split your money into 5-10 different currencies to avoid this. Yes you'll grow slow but its the smartest way of investing.

3. Never ever invest in currencies that are not listed on good exchanges or have very low volume.
During the last week of Dec I invested around 3k in a currency called CCore due to the fact that the market cap was less than 500k usd. Since then, ccore has doubled several times but I still haven't been able to sell my bags of this shitcoin because there absolutely no volume. The price doubled but there wasn't anyone willing to buy at that price. Finally I sold all my ccore tokens for 40% loss and decided to stay away from coins with such low volume.

4. Always set side 10-15% of your portfolio to invest in low marketcap coins with decent volume. Thats where most of my money came from. During November I invested a big chunk of my money in burst, neoscoin and radium. They all had low market cap (less than 10 mill) and all had the potential to rise a lot. During Dec, the value of burst increase 15-20 times and I made 40k usd from burst alone.
Now I've realized that its best to invest 80-85% of the money in big projects and set aside 10-15% for projects that high potential and are undervalued.

Looking at the current market situation, its best not to freak out. Don't monitor the prices for few months or you might make bad decisions. I am absolutely confident that the market will rise again sooner or later as we've seen this happening multiple times during the last 5 years.

Currently I have around 55k in usdt and I will invest in projects such as smartcash, coss, cappasity and burst. But I will invest after the marketcap exceeds 650 billion and the daily volume is around 50 billion.

I would be glad to hear out your experiences in crypto market. :)

Following :)

I learned a lot from the origonal thread but I was late to the party. Now Im here form the beginning

I definitely agree with a lot of the points

1) Swingtrading or longterm is where the money is at, people make daytrading more than it actually is. And remember: Even if you are longterm on a project, you sell once the chart goes exponential

2) Right now there is a lot of noise in the market, alot of the coins are scams so you have to be careful. But it could work out ( not my style though )

3) Completely agreed

4) Agreed as well, top 100 are often safer than the low MC- players and you should lock in profits accordingly ( just like 1 )

I wish you good luck my man, together to the moon ;)

Thanks for sharing your experience. What are your picks from top 10 coins based on market cap ?

Hey :) I am not monitoring the market for a long time but I like these projects - coss, smartcash, burst, cappasity. However, I am still not sure if its the best time to get in :)

Very nice tip. In fact I've also invested a part of my savings in some coins. Just holding them up until I see a surge again in the crypto world. Hoping it brings me a large profit.

this is the best time to buy in crypto as most coins are low. unfortunately no new money is coming in to crypto so prices may stay the same for quite a while. i honestly don't see btc breaking $10k anytime soon.

You're right that for now, no new money is coming in. Also the market seems to have stabilized above 300 billion and maybe the prices wont fall any further. However its still best to wait for now as we've seen it recovering - crashing multiple times in the last few months.
