When doing this, I also bold, highlight or underline the keywords. I create a title and description using as many medium and low traffic keywords as I know I can hit #1 relatively quickly even if a new site. My question is has the practice for bolding, highlighting and underlining now been ignored by google or is it still recognizing this. Within my optimization, I also place my keyword by priority placements and strategically throughout the site. I am also finding that some people don't believe in this anymore. Help Please?

I think Google still recognizes it and gives you some ranking for those terms but it is marginal when compared to backlinking and especially title/url/h1/h2 tags. Stuff has to be really low competition or have words from your primary target that is ranked high.

Meaning if your title/h1/url had "fluffy bunnies" and you built links for that, etc. You could put "pink fluffy bunnies" in bold somewhere and rank for that as well if it's low competition or you had enough power just for "fluffy bunnies" that it starts to consider you an authority for that topic. However, the difference between putting it in bold and just having it on your site somewhere is marginal I think.

I use the h1, h2, plus strategic, placements, i.e; beginning work, in title, description, and footer. For grabbing top on keywords, this has worked really well but also I concentrate on backlinks too. I have been told this no longer works and only mega backlinks work and that keywords are no longer needed strategically placed in content or bolded so want to get some advice from others who might know.

You may want to also consider sprinkling in some LSI keywords throughout your content. Google rewards me with high rankings when I do this and that's the way I build every single content page now.

I find the LSI keywords by putting my primary keyword in the Google Adwords keyword tool and taking the top 5 or 10 results. I use those LSI keywords in my content and I've had no trouble getting first page rankings even for competitive keywords.

I have some new sites I've built and it works for them too. But I like to buy aged domain names to build my new sites on and I write my own original content not any rewritten stuff so that gives me a little advantage also.

Sorry, but what is LSI? I probably understand but just use the long term. I use google anaylitics research tool for my keywords. I first select the shortest most relevant word and then let google give me the suggestions and traffic. This is not an exact science as I found a keyword I owned, wasn't using, had Very high traffic, in one year was totally gone from traffic info. Weird. Do you have a place to pay reasonable prices for 'used' keywords? I have found them kind of spendy.

tag A > tag B - Nesting of Tag B within Tag A

tag . attribute - Using an attribute inside the opening tag

index - A page linking to all the tests

document - An empty page with the secret keywords in the document name
path - An empty page with the secret keywords in the the url path

unknown - Not a test, but probably a registrar log entry about the creation of the domain name

NOTE: Some tests don't appear in the Google results. All Tags and Attributes are continually tested. We obtained our list of tags from w3schools

NOTE: Some tests appear more than once in the results at times. This happens when Google ranks both www.domain.com/test014.html and www.domain.com/test014.html. In the near future I may resolve this by using canonical tags to credit the best url for the content. Currently I don't understand why google crawls both. I only submitted the www. version.

Yes, these methods are still recognized by Google. I've had particular success with the <strong>keyword</strong> tags and italic tags as well. I don't particularly use underline but I suppose it still helps.

Very choicy info in this thread. A lot of us are understanding SEO as the perfect alternative to the fussy, temporary CL effects. Smart SEO is much better results for our efforts and nothing here is black hat so far but it still makes higher page ranks quicker than the traditional 6 months.

(Thinking out loud.) Hmm. I think it's a good idea to have some keyword structure. It keeps the site focused on its objectives.

I just put everything in blue, works for me too.

Just put metatags like h1 to embrace your main keyword and then use h2 and h3 for other relevant but not big keywords in your content. You can underline a bit just don't over do it. Otherwise i think you are on to something.
