From what I've read across a number of forums online and reviews of affiliate networks, It seems to be fairly accepted that shaving/scrubbing is just part of the reality of CPA. I understand EPC are likely to be reduced when its BS traffic being sent and to protect from BH methods but it feels demoralising to think that there's every possibility that leads can be getting shaved on the regular by either the merchant or the advertiser and your losing out on hard earned money after putting so much time into making it. Especially if your leads are in the Region of £$30-100 it adds up to a hefty loss of profit over time. I understand people use split testing between different networks to determine if theyr'e being fucked but the general impression im getting is that all networks are doing it to an extent and it's just the reality of affiliate marketing. Am i right or wrong in saying this?

Of-course I know I could be badly mistaken, I'm only going by what i read online and I know there's a lot out there making a killing in this industry so I'm not saying its a waste of time by any means but It's a pretty shit thought to think you could be making way more conversions than you're getting credit for. Especially when the market is so saturated now it's a perfect opportunity for advertisers to shave as theres so much competition.

We all know the world isn't black and white and there's always sketchy shit going on when it comes to money so forgive me for the paranoia

Sounds like you’re figuring out why it pays to not follow the rest of the pack.
Do what they do and you will surly get their results every time. Follow your instincts.

Haven't found a profitable campaign yet . If it starts converting the advertiser will make up a bullshit lie to pull you so they don't pay, its a scam that networks and advertisers get away with.

You're right in saying that. I used to market adult and shaving was rampant there. It almost became a joke how much adult affiliates said they would payout, some went 110%!

Your best bet is consistent split testing if you're going the affiliate route. But don't forget marketing your own products/services, once you've determined what sells. Start with affiliate marketing to test what sells, then switch to white label or drop shipping. If you're killing it with that, consider going further and sell direct. Test test test, until you know what works. Then keep cutting out the middlemen (costs) to maximize your profits.

Stop trying to make sense of why you aren't taking action.
Wise words but in this case not the correct ones. I'm trying to make sense of what the benefits of taking actions are if this is the reality. It's not about finding an excuse not take action, it's about understanding what the truth of the matter is before devoting time to it. Thanks for the assumption though, I'm sure theyre right sometimes

Appreciate the wise words my friend.

high IQ post, just wrote it down to not forget it, holy shit what a one liner!
I agree, It's a great one liner providing the assumption is correct...

I see where you're coming from mate. Just trying to decipher if my time would be best spent on other pursuits.

That's why I'm pretty sceptical. There's so much shit talk online towards affiliate networks chucking people in the dirt for no good reason

If you want better commissions with less risk and no dependence on third parties, sell your own goods/services with your own supply chain, customer service, etc.
