Lost in YouTube Video SEO

An year ago I was running a channel very successfully making 300 bucks monthly without any hard work done because my one of the video got very popular on reddit and it gave me lots and lots of views. It was all weel until i got hit by Youtube new TOS and my channel with other child channels got banned and my two Gmail IDs got suspended from using Youtube. I cried because it was a very good source and i smashed and got angry (yeah! i wanted to nuke the Youtube HQ too but didn't do shit) but after weeks of moaning I got stable and turned to find out what happened that made my channel went away and saw many things like they changed the guidelines where you they point it out that you shouldn't put tags in description and all that shit .. (Btw i was spamming in that way and i admit i was wrong and got banned - Totally my fault) but After a year now i am again thinking of working on Youtube and i already started working and Now i got some decent 100k total views on my videos and few hunderd subscribers also.

But my problem is I am still scared and don't know how to do SEO of my Youtube videos because after few months of when my channel got banned, I made new channel and worked on it and put tags normally like two or three and bit of a description and still my channel got banned and now I am barely using tags in the video.

To sum up my whole shit story, i am just asking help from you guys how should I do SEO in 2018 for my Youtube video through which i don't get spanked and still be in safe and ranking. Please Help me.

yes i havethe same fear, tags in description are very good for SEO purpose, why yotuube banned for this option, i think we can use new ways to improve our video and specially don't be banned...

Yep Youtube did another update I don't get 100,000 views per video upload through the suggested videos like before on one of news Youtube channel.Also rankings in Youtube are very slow.

The key is to always use aged youtube accounts. They are less likely to get banned. Put main keyword twice in title in a natural way. Write a long description and use good targeted tags. You can also add competitors names and keywords in the description. Before you post them say something like " I just want to give thanks to ... for their great information." Do not look spammy. Look like you are giving great info and make sure that the videos are of a good quality. If your video gets slapped, file an appeal. 9 out of 10 times my appeals have been accepted the same day.

Sorry to hear about your channel suspension. You really have to be careful with keyword stuffing; do not over-optimize

You seem to have a basic understanding of YouTube ranking techniques that you learnt through past failures, so I'm not sure what else to add that would be helpful. On page SEO techniques are limited, off page techniques are more interesting and are what I'd recommend you focus your time on (such as view and engagement botting/buying from smm panels). Here are some points to get you thinking in the right direction:

Craft titles, descriptions, and tags targeting specific keywords without over-optimizing as per current industry standards. There are lots of guides for this on the seo sections of BHW.

Focus on titling and thumbnails in ways that increase your click through rate. Look at your competitors, compare and create both in ways that will make it more likely your video will be clicked on a higher percentage of times then theirs even if your a position below them, that's how you can increase from a good ranking position to a better one.

Playlists are useful, make sure your using them, they can rank on their own and drive free traffic to your videos. Put your video in the first position, then 10-15 other topic/keyword relevant videos, optimize your playlist title and description and publish publicly. Put each video in 2-3 of these playlists and target a variation of your main keyword, it doesn't take much time and these can rank. Look into 'playlist siloing' for a different perspective on playlist ranking.

You mentioned a video of yours being popular on Reddit. You might want to consider using upvote botting to manipulate your Reddit posts for even more traffic. Don't go overboard with it, just give each video a slight boost with 20-60 upvotes each depending on the subreddit size, so they get to more visible positions then get naturally upvoted from there.

Once you've improved your on page optimization techniques and have methods (such as Reddit upvote botting) to promote externally and drive organic traffic to each of your videos, you can start boosting your videos with views, likes, dislikes, comments, social shares, and embeds/backlinks to outrank your competitors on YouTube and Google.

I'd recommend taking a multifaceted approach to YouTube seo, and rank your videos with metadata optimization, manual external promotion methods, metric boosting (views, comments, etc.), and link building for maximum effectiveness. So start looking into all of those areas and you'll be a pro in no time.

Are you still using the same IP adress you got banned on the first time?
Could be the reason why you got banned again and would be way more likely then your SEO now..
