(METHOD) Ranking Pins on Pinterest

Great tips William, as always you do!

I just want to ask you few questions in you don't mind:

1.
I'm always making more to try and keep up but making accounts that are quality, seamless and that dont get banned is a slow process.

How much time need to pass with those fresh accounts you create before you start repinning in the group boards?

2. When you say quality accounts, you mean the account to have profile photo + bio, to have some followings and followers ratio, and have populated private boards?

3. How you avoid bans from Pinterest? Personally I tried to repin in group boards with 1 year aged accounts (warmed before that for 1 week, with previous history of group boards repining) and after the third repin I get an immediate suspension. What do you think can be a possible issue that their algorithm "caught" my accounts even after the 3rd repin?

4.
I pin 90 pins per account per day
You repin 90 repins in one run with every account, or you pin 9 times in 10 runs or you have different tactic for this?

Sorry for my long questions. I hope u won't have a hard time to answer them.

Really big thanks for this method
I'm on Pinterest playfield now, but didn't realize this approach will works until read your post

as you're already quite some time on pinterest with experience & success,
what is your best practices to optimize pin description and #hashtags?

also waiting your guide on how to rank pinterest pins on google.. :D

I don't view it as a parasite at all. There are lots of users genuinely searching for pins they like by the second. If you post content related to your niche with the right hashtags, and if they go to top, you'll get plenty of quality organic traffic right from Pinterest. Ranking a site with the help of pins its a bonus.

I agree.

the same ones who has been in the top in the last month :)

lol probably, basically anyone who does not put in as much action and make as many pins as the next guy.

Sry but a dumb question cuz I dont use pinterest that much, how could u pin an image again and again?

You set multiple accounts, go to the website, and pin the image to Pinterest each by each? Or Do i miss sth here? Or you set multiple accounts, each account will upload the same image to pinterest again and again? Or?

I dont pin an image again and again. I set up a pin on tailwind and set up the boards I want it to go to. I also set up times in the day when I want my account to post so 90 pins is close to one every 15 minutes. I'm sorry if I was not clear on the posting part but they dont get posted all at the same time they are spread out over the day and its's also important to be promoting more than one thing so that you have different pins to randomize and shuffle in your tailwind queue. Watch a few videos on YouTube about tailwind and you will get the picture.

Wouldn't website get banned by pinterest if we submit same link again & again?

yeah probably, that's not what I am doing :)

nice. thanks for sharing.

does it works with porn niche aswell? for example, i have a porn tube, i post some sexual images on pinterest boards and use your method. will i get traffic to my porn tube or will pinterest blacklist my site? thanks

My pleasure, I really dont know. I dont think the Pinterest demographic is right for porn. Its mostly women and the culture on Pinterest might shun porn on there. I have never tried it so I'm probably the wrong person to ask but in my honest opinion no I dont think it would do well on Pinterest.

Definitely going to give this a try, looks good!

Hope it goes well for you.

Thank you.

1) I would probably wait a few weeks before really using them heavy duty and even then I would warm them up to a high daily amount rather than go from one or two here and there to 90 a day. Each to their own I guess but I suspect that it's what you are pinning rather than the fact you are pinning to a group board. some actions raise red flags all day long so its all about learning what you can get away with.

William702, where do you use hashtags - in the header or in the footer of the pin?

The pin description.

pintrest is still young their algorithm probably sucks

Very true, but they are getting cleverer all the time so don't underestimate them. and with silly twats like me sharing methods like this in a public forum it wont be long before they figure more stuff out.

Really big thanks for this method

My pleasure, I hope you can get some use out of it.

It's really simple stuff, usually when I use the tailwind app it drags some info over from the products i promote so i just add to it with the price and some relevant hashtags, its not hard to come up with 3 quality very relevant hashtags, 30 is a struggle but three is easy :)

how do you get in group boards ?

Must have had this question over a hundred times in the past few months. It the tough part for most people it seems. It makes me laugh because I find it fucking easy. I guess I'm able to charm them a bit and offer them a better deal if I am asking for a trade of boards and I use my well known account from a certain marketplace I sell on so people probably trust and want to do the trade with me more than some people. Who knows why it is but I have gone over all the tips I can think of and detailed all of the methods I use to get them in the two threads below as well so you might want to read them and digest some of the info there too.

Hello William, this is maybe a great share, but personally, I'm very skeptical due to Tailwind app which you are using and have mentioned several times. I have looked in to Tailwind pricing page and was kinda shocked. $10/month per account and billed annually. Which means to run a single account there, you have to invest $120. You also said you are running a bunch of accounts, so basically, you are paying a ton of money for a damn pin scheduler. And that's what seems out of any logic for me here. I have checked your previous threads and seems like you are in a Pinterest game very long time and have a ton of experience, so why you simply don't use one of Pinterest bots? There are plenty of decent automation software which are WAY CHEAPER and have way more automation features. Sorry, but I think you posted all this just to promote highly overpriced Tailwind app, because you are an owner, or connected with it in some other way.

I apologize in advance if I'm mistaken. Just sharing my first impression. I might be wrong. Please care to explain why you use such overpriced pin scheduler instead of a decent, way cheaper automation software to run all this?

Also, I have no experience when it comes to Pinterest, but I do have a lot of experience when it comes to botting and posting in other social networks to drive traffic, and spamming exact same pins over and over without bans, sounds kinda unrealistic. Again, I might be wrong.

Good share! Can confirm this is working, It's the same strategy I have been testing but with a custom bot. Some things of note are:

- Specific is better - Targeted Niches simply work better as with the right combination of good images, titles and keywords you can easily dominate a whole subsection of Pinterest and appear in all kinds of short & longtails related to the keyword in Pinterest search.

- Rich Pins - Ensuring Rich pins are displayed with the relevant meta such as product price go a long way to helping the rank of your Pins in search, also allow you to manipulate re-pins and change domain / link titles down the road if you are struggling to rank because of certain criteria required to appear at top.

- Initial Boost - Like @William702 mentions group boards are playing a huge part in the growth and ranking, so your initial planning and execution of new pins is crucial to ensure you get the right traction in the beginning, also plan ahead and know when you need to give them additional re-pins and at what times by keeping an eye on your metrics, if its an clickable URL, check domain analytics and adjust pinning times to correlate with highest activity period in the day which will likely result in the most repins due to users being online and active.

This method could be highly dependant on how Pinterest go forward with there Ad platform, as if they suddenly see an influx of new shops, websites and services dominating search it will likely provoke a reaction that involves these users having to pay for the privilege by reducing reach/impressions/ranking and being more dependant on post engagement ad's just like the road Facebook has gone down.

Good share though man, glad to know i'm not alone haha! :)

So you are pinning the same url (with/without ?modifier) to the same boards multiple times?
Do I understand that correctly?

No need for an apology, its a very good and valid question and I hope I can sufficiently answer it for you. I have mentioned my dealings with Tailwind several times in the few threads I have started about Pinterest so for a little more background you can read what I have posted over the last few months about them. Yes Tailwind does cost $10 a month if you pay upfront but I think they do have a $15 month to month option. I did use to promote them around 6 months ago to my some of my Etsy FB groups and pages and it did OK but I found that it was too complex for the Etsy demo that I was promoting it to so I stopped promoting it 6 months or more ago. I was about to start back up when they moved it across to shareasale recently but I had other projects and never started due to the low commission they are paying on a high cost subscription like theirs. I was also making some nice money on crypto at the time so I could not be bothered with the few dollars they were offering. So as of right now I am not affiliated with them in any way and just use the tool. I will say this I have several accounts set up for free that they set up for me as I have mentioned before so I dont pay for half my accounts which is nice. I do pay for 8 accounts as of right now and that will increase no doubt but they pay for themselves.

I charge $500 for a 10k pin package and can do that with 4 accounts so that would cost $40 and I profit $460. The tailwind cost is the only cost pretty much. But I know a lot of my fellow marketers already use tailwind so this is particularly relevant to them. If someone does not want to pay for tailwind then that's fine I'm sure there are tons of other bots for less that do the same thing and I'm sure that there are people here that can make their own bots.

I will say this however. I have noticed that all these people using all these crazy bots that use proxies and have all these automated functions tend to burn out quick and I see people saying they got all their accounts banned. Tailwind is mainstream and not some bot knocked up in someones bedroom and they have money to have a team that liaises with Pinterest. (I assume) Its like politics, corporations, lobbyists. The ones with the money usually can break rules or have very lax ones. Pinterest probably take a different view to people using random bots to a big company like Tailwind and in reality the majority of people using it are probably legit business people or promoters so they probably dont have half as many problems with that sort of app/bot compared to some extreme bot that can take the piss and do a bunch of spamming using hundreds of account with proxies. Pinterest are more worried about those people that they are some bloggers and sellers on Ecomm sites using an app to promote their products. But that's just my opinion. I have no idea how these companies work but I suspect Tailwind is not monitored half as much as other bots and scripts and is regarded as a legit business as oposed to a $20 bot offered by a single person on a forum. You get what you pay for.

I'm 100% not trying to promote Tailwind though just to be clear on that. As far as I'm concerned they have a good tool that I can use effectively, that's not to say that any of these other bots and tools are no good. I'm sure there are plenty that are better and cheaper. I'm not tech savvy, Tailwind made it easy and like Coinbase is to crypto Tailwind is to pinterest bots in my opinion. Its the expensive easy to use mainstream version. If I didn't have a bunch of free accounts I would have probably looked for something else but because I was set up there and knew how to use it effectively I stuck with it. My accounts are paid for many many times over at this point and some so its not a huge issue to me but I can totally understand your point and can understand why you may have or still think that.

I really don't think you need to apologies and you are not mistaken about it being overpriced. If you have another option that you can share with everyone I welcome you to do it. I dont know why it's so hard to grasp that someone might pay for an app even if its overpriced in your opinion. By the way $10 a month is not a lot of money in my opinion but to some people its a weeks living expenses so I get your point. I'm personally not going to say crass things like I pay more for a cup of coffee but a lot of people do and I am very lucky to be able to afford it and live how I live. As I say I have documented many times how I use that app and you can read about it over the past few months if you want. If you want to think this is just a ploy to promote tailwind you can do that too. I'm not sure how that affects me as I dont see any aff links so how that would be tracked I have no idea.

No hard feelings though mate, its good to keep people accountable and I give you a big thumbs up for putting yourself out there and doing it. I use Tailwind because that's the method I have thought up. If I was using another bot and spoke of that I'm sure I would be accused of promoting that too. I really dont know what to say lol but no I dont own tailwind hahaha, do you think I would be here spending my time answering posts on one forum to try and get a few signups?

I'm not spamming the same link over and over, as I tried to explain that's why I have to have 20 - 30 pins per package so that they are different, tailwind randomizes/shuffles the queue so its rare that the same pin goes out to the same board and if it does its probably only once or twice over the course of tens of thousands of pins.

So in closing if I have not made it clear in my novel above. No I dont own tailwind. I'm not an affiliate of theirs (I was 6 months ago). I dont get paid by them in any way. I dont have any communication with anyone at their company anymore (did 6 months ago). I'm not going to let the fact that I earn nothing from mentioning them stop me from mentioning them, the whole method hinges around setting up pins to go out to group boards and this is personally the best I have found to do that the way I do it. Think what you will but it's all good I appreciate your opinion and input to the thread and like I say no hard feelings either way :)

Great contribution, thank you!

So you are pinning the same url (with/without ?modifier) to the same boards multiple times?
Do I understand that correctly?

Nope, I set up the pins using the app. I use the extension because I can then just go to a product and there is a little icon on the bottom of the image, you click that and it creates the pin which you need to edit and save. I add a description and save it for later. I do this to all the 20 - 30 products in the package and then go to the app and select the group of group boards that I want it to go out to. this part takes a few minutes and might crash the browser but I just click wait and it always works, it just takes a few minutes to catch up. so lets say you had 20 drafts, you set them up to go to 100 group boards thats 2000 pins. they are all in the queue and then I just press shuffle and walk away for a few weeks. when they have all been posted i get the templates if i want to promote the same stuff and set them up again and walk away for a few more weeks :)

its not like I am just sitting there pinning the same thing second after second to the same place. They are all randomized so I dont get any problems. I'm not saying that I wont get problems, especially now the cat is out of the bag but there will be some people that benefit from it in the meantime.

Sorry, but I think you posted all this just to promote highly overpriced Tailwind app, because you are an owner, or connected with it in some other way.

@vaidavytas Hey man again no hard feelings and I can totally understand your thought process and this post is not directed at you, I'm just referencing part of what you said for the sake of this post.

Not sure where to start with the point I'm trying to make here so it may go one a bit (like most of my posts)

I'm glad I was not called out on being the owner of Etsy when I shared a method for selling on there. I hope not to be called out for being the owner of Poshmark if I share a method for that app in the next few days :)

This app (I wont even say the T word) just so happens to be the app I use. As I said above if I used another one I would probably have been accused of promoting or owning that. If someone tells you there is a good restaurant or movie to go watch it's the same thing but because people perceive there to be no ulterior motive to those things they go un-accused. Because I get sweet fuck all for sharing this method people cant fathom why I would share it without an ulterior motive. To be honest I have to ask myself the same question sometimes but not often. Not only because of accusations but because of genuinely wondering why I would share this info instead of trying to earn from it in some way or keeping it so I can somehow use it just for myslef. We are mostly all IM'ers after all. I shared it because I know it will benefit a lot of the people here and really that's the whole reason, I'm not going to lie and make out there will be no benefit, I'm sure it will wind it's way back to me in some form or another or be the factor that starts a dialogue with someone that could lead to a project or client being acquired down the road for something else. Or if I ask a question some other members here might be more inclined to help me out with their knowledge given I shared some of mine.

Accusations like this from anyone can lead to people not wanting to share their knowledge, methods or opinions. I'm not going to say the accusation above was outrageous because that would be counter intuitive too. I really dont know the best way to deal with a situation like this should people make an accusation in the thread first? Should they message the person with their concerns first? Generally speaking I am also someone that would call people out so I'm not a hypocrite and we all read into things or see things differently and come to our own conclusions. So I can't exactly be surprised or mad at being accused of trying to promote something with any post I make on a forum like this. All I can do is refute any accusations if they are not true. I can't expect someone to read over the hundreds and hundreds of posts in the other threads to have that info first as it's a lot quicker and easier to do the accusing and let the accused do all the work lol.

The reason I am making these points is that I will be sharing quite a few more methods as the weeks and months go on just because I can and it will help people. The Poshmark method I want to share is a fucking duzy and my wife and I are making a lot of money each week doing hardly anything. The type of person that will do well with the method will probably be women aged 20 - 40 who have some spare time on their hands or need a second income or who are stay at home moms. We will literally be creating lots of competitors, there is no other way to slice it than we will be creating competitors and sharing a bunch of valuable info for free that might effect us in the future. But at the same time I cant be in all places at once and I am only getting a tiny fraction of the pie at full capacity so why not share what we are doing and let a ton of other people make a decent living off of it. A lot of people will wonder why or what we will be getting out of it money wise and what my wife and I will be wondering is how many people we have helped create small businesses? How many people have jobs because of us? How many people have rent money or money to pay for some outlandishly expensive medicine because they dont have insurance? I can quantify the tens of thousands of sellers we have properly helped on sites like Etsy and the nearly 2000 shops on there that we have personally worked with and what help that has potentially provided to people all over the world. I can't quantify the millions and millions of views some of the posts, shares, blogs, mentions we have made has done to help the countless people who have read them and we have not earned a dime from them in the vast majority of cases. I would like to think it's a lot though and will continue to do so. We get emails all the time on some of the platforms we are on thanking us, I mean look at the thread above and other threads posted by other people. There are a lot of people who will benefit from this and that's why I shared it. No other reason.

I'm sorry to be a boring fucker but no under cover promotion going on here. Use whatever tools are at your disposal. Try not to concentrate on the tool I use and try to concentrate on the concept of it and use whatever tools you can in order to achieve it.

Hey William, I'm just reposting my questions that I think you missed them somehow.

4.
You repin 90 repins in one run with every account, or you pin 9 times in 10 runs or you have different tactic for this?

Sorry for my long questions. I hope u won't have a hard time to answer them.

Lol I got started with number one and forgot to do the rest :)

2) Yes it should look totally real and have been used in a real way for at least a few weeks. I normally leave them alone for a few weeks then and do another few days or normal pinning just so that everything looks normal.

3) I guess because in their eyes i'm a normal user who is using an app to share products direct from a marketplace that other people share stuff from hundreds of thousands of times on a daily basis so I think I just get lost in the crowd, i dont use any proxies or promote anything obviously spammy, i look like a normal small business which is what they want on the platform.

4) no its 90 pins spread out across the day raging from 5 - 20 minutes apart, all random and all shuffled so its not like its the same pin to the same board at the same time every day or all at the same time either. If this had to be done by hand it would not work, hence having to schedule them.

Nice post, I've always avoided using hashtags because I figured it would lead more people away from my pin than to it but this makes sense.

I`m sorry, but your "method" looks like Tailwind promotion.
I`ve read topic twice and didn`t see anything except "you just pin the pins" with other common phrases and million mentions of tailwind app.
It`s obvious that in Pinterest you need to pin the pins to go up,but you can`t call this a "method"

I actually thought the same as you for a while, as didn't want to give clickers another excuse to click away from your pins.
But with the limited ways in which to make a Pin actually targeted its worth taking every opportunity you can sprinkle keywords and related words in there so you appear for Rankable terms, especially for products as you will become buried and ghosted out the search results if you don't get the re-pins and social validation.

I guess it only works like this if you do it in bulk.

Well its six of one and half a dozen of the other. you benefit from being at the top of that search if its done right, if its done wrong you risk people clicking away from your stuff.

Hey man, just thought I would fire some questions at you to keep the discussion on this thread rolling as think it can benefit others including myself as always nice to see fresh info from a different perspective!

1. What strategies or tools do you have in place to keep track of the keywords you are ranking Pins for on Pinterest search? i.e do you use any software or online services to monitor the ranks or are you simply monitoring the pins as you go for clients and basing it more on the traffic results?

2. Joining Group Boards - What are your preferred ways for joining group boards for this ranking method? And do they need to have certain criteria like X amount of followers / X amount of posts daily to keep up your posting momentum and spacing? Or are you simply trying to amass as many boards as you can in and around the niche to allow for further posting down the line on your schedule?

3. You mentioned you Pin directly from product pages and rank those images, have you tested this with using Pins created for the sole purpose of becoming viral and generating repins & clicks? And do you believe this would cut the time to rank significantly in half or is it a simple case of peddling those pins on the schedule until you start to see them ranking?

Cheers!

I have exactly the same concern with this method

I don't understand how the website is not banned yet on Pinterest

Not in my experience, to have a link flagged or ghosted you would need to seriously be spamming it with a really high frequency over a short span of time.

There are countless Pinterest accounts out there who only post there own URL's consistently, Look at accounts like Buzzfeed all the way down to those accounts about Blogging Mom's making money from home. They all solely post their own links over and over and if anything are rewarded for this because of one simple fact. Repins.

By spacing the Pin's out mixed with all kinds of other pins and links especially on a Business Account you are doing what every other Marketer / Blog / Product or Service are doing on Pinterest and this is what they want, otherwise why would they be flaunting the Improvements to the ad platform to offer you further capability for exposure and clicks to your domain linked Pins?

The power is not so much in how many pins you post with your URL's which is where your focus seems to be (As the amount needed to rank could really vary per Niche / Keyword), but more but the frequency in which you are repinned by users (Or your own accounts) that find you pins valuable on the group boards you are posting to, this is where the ranking really starts to show.

By consistently re-posting the same pin your are essentially stacking the social engagement which is where the ranking starts to show. Again this is where you see multiple pins ranking for the same keywords in search as @William702 mentioned as you slowly begin to stack social engagement so high you dominate that Niche / Keyword and all the sub keywords that tail off from that.

Example: You rank #1 for "black leggings outfit" you probably then rank high for "black leggings outfit winter" also which you can have multiple pins ranking for to with different images and URL's.

You can actually check that example by searching keywords, then add a suggested long-tail's and you will see the same pins from the same URL's and accounts ranking highly against others solely going after the long version of the keyword. So you are not only ranking for 1 Keyword but multiple variants of that once you've stacked the amount of engagement and repins.

This could not be achieved simply by Pinning your images and URL's with only one account over and over hoping to rank with little to no repins from other users, the algorithm for ranking is looking to total up all the repins, comments, tried, shares externally to position you in search. This simply would not be possible if one account was the sole Pinner / Repinner of that URL or Pin, you are heavily reliant on the engagement of others and having this spread across Pinterest.
