How To Rank Exact Match Domain(EMD)

Hi, I want to know how to rank an exact match domain what will I have to do to rank for my main keyword and how long it takes to be on 1st position and what if my exact match domain has high competition.

Kindly answer i am going to start a new website using exact match domain.

Any answer and experience will be highly appreciated and this post will also help everyone who are newbies like me in internet marketing and in black hat world.

It’s impodsible to answer that. There are so many variables.

Really it depends of the competition - check the top 10 results; what are their sites like, how much content, how well established are they, how many quality backlinks do they have? That will give you a rough idea of what you are up against.

They are already established with 40+ DA and having very good link profile

They are not EMD's they are not created for that particular keyword, they are general website where they have related content about a much bigger keyword like 'Shoes' and my keywords are leather shoes this is just n example

Even so, doesn’t necessarily matter. Remember there is only a very small advantage to be gained now with an EMD.

It still is really important to consider the type and authority of the sites you are trying to outrank.

As far as i tested the exact EMD don't work like years ago.

Honestly there is only one way to find out - try it

But think about this - if there is money to be made from this keyword, then the chances are people are spending time and money to rank for it. So its not likely to be easy.

Still, this is how you learn SEO, just get stuck in and try it. If you succeed, great. If you fail, learn and try again.

I created a site purely as a test last week. Keyword is in a difficult market, 6.6k searches.

The site after 7 days popped in at #19, now it has slipped to #25 and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

This happens every time.

EMD domains are great for branding if the name/keyword makes sense, but Google won't rank you purely on your EMD like it did back in 2010. However, if it has a good link profile and is an EMD you probably will find that all the links are relevant to the EMD subject, a hidden bonus of having an EMD that nobody talks about. If your EMD is metalteacups.com then there is a better chance your links in your link profile are relevant to metal tea cups than if your URL was teacupprincess.net or whatever.
