not for me, but is good money.
Do you need a microphone for the software?
In my experiences so far, Dragon Naturally speaking is horrible. About every other word I say it is wrong. I say end over and over and it comes out and, I say it as clearly as possible but the stupid thing doesn't put end. I trained it 2 or 3 times over and still no good. Very good idea though. If only Speech to Text programs were better.
How would you expect to get the software to capture your voice and enter the text on the screen without a microphone?
The thing with speech to text programs is that how well it works is going to greatly depend on the quality of your microphone and whether or not there is a lot of noise in the background.
After you complete the training you need to simply just use the software and make the corrections as you go along. The software will remember your choices of words and phrases for next time so it's sort of "learns" your way of speaking.
Of all the text to speech programs out there Dragon Naturally Speaking is one of the BEST!! So to say it's horrible is incorrect. Try a few other text to speech software and you'll see that Dragon is the best option out there.
Though if your typing speed is very good you could simply obtain the same results by just typing. Though speaking would make things much less of a "chore"
