I want to get feedback and keep track of things, So i figured I'd make a Journey. Usually I quit but I will SUCCEED! For my family. For my kids. Lets make it happen!

Using Shopify/Oberlo

Got a 30day free trial for shopify~

Started adding products in my niche from aliexpress. Picked a good free theme... Looking at different apps (if you guys have any free app recommendations let me know!)

I don't have a domain yet, but I hope to get one sometime. (RL problems)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Started contacting companies in my niche. Lots of companies for products in my niche, So its kinda time consuming. Basically im finding products for said niche, copying the company info, and sending a message to the company ... which basically says..

"Hey Im looking for products for my line... and if your products meet our quality standards... I think we can start making some money".... Not like that but thats the jist of it. I spent like 2 hours making it sound super business like... Proof reading and stuff.

In the message I ask for product samples. I said they can only be part of my line if they have high quality products.

I want only high quality on my site.
S
o far I sent messages to like 20 different companies. Ranging from 5-10 Employees to 100-500 employees. I hope its working because I did a bunch of research based off how much they make in a 6 month/1 year period -- and also amount of products they have for sale... and the amount they sell

That way I can see which ones (If any) will send me review products. (So in the future I can target more of those company demographs) I think the bigger companies will probably ignore it or say no or already have other people they have ties with.

Most of the names are Chinese, So I hope they can understand my message.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Made an instagram. I'll start following/liking stuff for the niche. It's a new account so slow and steady. 100% manual.

I have a few people interested (real life people I know) that would be willing to take pictures with the products for free... So i could use it as reviews. Only if the product is good will I keep it(that is if people send me review products)

I say IF because the products in said niche has a wide range of products and can be fairly expensive... 5$-300+$
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to make a facebook page too, but I'm encountering some problems. Facebook keeps saying

"It looks like you're trying to create an account for a business, organization or character. Please create a Facebook Page instead."

When I make a page, It says I need an account. I dont want to do this blackhat, but is there a way around it? I dont want to use my personal FB page. I assume its against TOS to have multiple accounts. Correct?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have any questions shoot. I'm still in the infancy. Just setting everything up. My shop looks really good though. Just need to get that domain so it looks more professional. I already have a good idea on the demograph I need to target. This is kinda my specialty... Finding the demograph.

Its going to be a long journey. Any tips welcome~ Haters gonna hate.

So I actually got like 12 responses from various companies. Some of them want me to pay for review products, others are willing to give me samples.

I'm super excited because although most won't be able to give free samples, I didn't expect so many responses so fast. It's literally only been like 6-9 hours since i messaged these people.

And like I said, there are a bunch of other companies I haven't messaged in this niche.

They all seem to communicate via WhatsApp... Never used it before but I'm going to set up a professional response and try my luck at getting samples.

I'm really thinking I need to dish some money to get a domain so it looks more professional.

Yes, if you have the money, get a domain ASAP.

I been thinking that more and more. The thing is, will there be problems if later down the line I want to move away from Shopify to my own site? Like will I have to transfer domains (which would be more money(?))

Or will the domain be stuck with Shopify?

How much will it cost? Or does it vary... I like Shopify and my site looks professional as hell... But later... Maybe there will be problems that I wouldn't be able to address via Shopify... Unless I spend mad money on apps??? Feedback would be appreciated!

You can just connect the domain you buy to your shopify store, you do need the shopify membership which is 30$/month to do so. It is totally worth it though, trust me.

Having your own brand name domain is essential!

thiswebsitesucks.shopify.com url's convert bad!

Create your own store with WordPress, woocommerce.. it's not that hard like some people say. It's easy as creating a Facebook account.
You can also get hosting and a free domain from godaddy just for $12 for a whole year.

Yes it is not hard as you say for experienced people. I`m making my woocommerce store, so I can post some info. My dream whose to make electronic store, with some categories, like Wish.

1) Got server and seo domain name. $15
2) I spend nearly 3 days on choosing right theme. $55, but I got this for free.
3) When it started to work, I saw that theme have problems. Needed remake css stiles and add some custom images.
4) Mobile whose bad, so I needed again customize my css. I needed to add menu, and navbar.
5) Made simple logo.
6) Started to add categories I made 80.
7) Started to add plugins, like abandon cart, pdf invoices and other fancy stuff so I added nearly 60+ plugins. Most of them is premium and cost money, but I got for free.
8) Started adding products, with this I tested out auto adding systems.
9) After adding 1000 products, found out that my website works slow.
10) Tried on compressing images, did not helped.
11) So I upgraded my server $60+, this not much help.
12) Delete all products, clean database and all files.
13) Ordered ezusy $25 and started to add products from scratch.
14) After minimizing and trimming images, I started to add 3-4 max images with products.
15) Made 10 more pages, like about us, terms of use, privacy policy and contact.
16) Order 25 hand written articles about my niche.
17) Started to work seo using yoast seo on all 15 pages and 88 categories. (pain in ass!)
18) Every week adding 2-3 articles.
19) Both my products for testing and got again bugs.
20) Fixed all bugs.
21) Added 800 products.
22) Tested website speed and found again that it is loading slow and I got some errors that causing slow load.
23) Fixsed all errors, some whose in theme java.
24) Website loads better but still slow, so I decided when I will finish adding all products I will get back to this.
25) Made better logo
26) Added cool animations in slides of first page.

And this is only small amount of jobs that I made in one month, because I don't really remember all of them.

Future jobs:
27) I need to add 1000 more products.
28) When I will finish completely my store, I will order better server if this will not gonna help then I will order dedicated server.
29) I will start working on mobile app.
30) Mobile app testing
31) Mobile app feature graphics and screens in phones, in 7 inch tablet and in 10inch.
32) I will gonna make aso description and name.
33) I will upload mobile app in google play.
34) I will gonna order more 50-100 hand written articles.
35) I will gonna start working on backlinks.
36) Facebook pixel ads and google adwords ads.
37) Iphone app for itunes.

And many more jobs to do.

With this I just wanted to say that to make shop it is not easy, but at the end what kina shop you want. I saw lot of videos where people have one page shop and they are making money on one product.
