Upgrade from Shared Hosting to something better (Namecheap)

I am hosting 5-6 sites in the Professional Plan of Namecheap's shared hosting.
In the future I plan on hosting more sites so I need to upgrade. I also some faster solutions.

- Do you think the prices for Ultimate and Business Plans are good for what they offer?

I was looking at Namecheap VPS solutions but they are too expensive I think:

27$/month for
1GB +1GB Burst / 1 CPU core / 30GB SSD / 250GB bandwith

+30$/month for management
+11$/month for CPanel

I dont know if I can self manage a VPS or handle Amazon Cloud.
Seen some videos and didnt get much. I am currently handling the Cpanel and adding sub domains and do some Advanced Zone editing.

- Why is management so expensive? Is it too difficult to manage and setup a VPS?
Does it need constant monitoring or if you set it up then its as easy as with Shared Hosting and Cpanel?

I am thinking on choosing Ultimate for starters and maybe move to VPS later...Is migrating a pain in the ass for many sites?

Sorry for asking too much.

Any thoughts are welcome.

I'm namecheap Ultimate shared hosting costumer, and the price you show me is in euro and more expensive than showed in my region.

And for the Ultimate hosting, it's awesome. I use for many cron script and some heavy scraping script, running more than 15 sites smoothly. Also their costumer service is really nice and give good solution for any problem.

For the VPS solution, I using OVH hosting which is far cheaper than namecheap offering. Yeah I think it's too expensive

There is so many tutorial on how to setup a VPS. For me that's no problem at all.

VPS provider usually have built-in image, so you can choose what suitable OS you can install on them. But OVH use their own image. Later, you install/setup the webserver yourself, with/without panel etc. Don't worry, not that scary - there is so much 'how to' tutorial.

Do you monitor the server and maintain it for example?
Yes, monitoring is a must. If you install panel even like CWP (free CentOS web panel), they have many tools to monitor the server health, traffic, 404 page, etc.

Locking 1 domain mean as main Cpanel domain. you can add more domain as addon domain, how many domain you can add is depend on hosting policy. But usually you can add alias domain as much as you want.

Thanks @Leo Wijaya for your tips. And yes I am a bit scared to tell the truth but in the end it shouldnt be something too difficult I guess. It is just that I cant afford to lose time on the server-side of things compared to my current state which is almost zero time dealing with servers.

I have checked the reviews for them and they were quite some negative ones
so I chose Namecheap and I am pretty satisfied especially with the support.
Why should I go to Bluehost and migrate?
Will they be that better than Namecheap?

Just because its an EIG provider doesn't mean its a horrible business.

I've used it for awhile until I made to switch to digitalocean. My experience wasn't that bad at all. If something isn't "good" then ask their support to make it right, that's why its there for you.

You just have to overcome and adapt if you want something to work out in your favor. Seems like this view of EIG providers are from those that didn't try to make it work out for them.

Thats interesting. Saw a video on how to install WP for example and seems easy.
Price is good too.
I wonder what are the differences in handling the VPS compared to Cpanel.
(Advanced Zone Editor, Adding Email accounts and stuff like that are pretty easy with CPanel)

The thing is I dont have a clue what else will I have to do while having a VPS. Monitor it?

My other problem is migrating my existing sites that are on Namecheap where I have 1 main Domain and the rest as Addon Domains inside the main WP folder.

My situation is a mess I think. The easiest way would be to upgrade to Ultimate Namecheap and do nothing of all these...but pay the "price" of the shared server and lower speeds.

*UPDATE - STAY AWAY FROM NAMECHEAP

Forget what I ve said about Namecheap...
They are blackmailing me now...

They have told me that the only plan they would accept to upgrade my server (due to increased traffic I ve got since last week)
to is the Dedicated Servers and specifically a plan that costs ~1500$/year. They claim that no other plan fits my needs (VPS or Business SSD)

Their shared servers have limits to traffic as expected (I ve noticed that the site goes down at ~50 users online)
and you cant run Adword Campaigns at their servers... The moment I run a Campaign the server is down.

- Any advice for migration would be much appreciated? Or any good video for Wordpress Migration.

TL;DR: If you think your sites might get some traffic stay away from them..I dont know if its a common practice in all hosts...

You could go to a VPS plan. Or get set up with a nice reseller hosting plan. This way each site has its own cpanel account. Makes it easy if you ever sell a site to pass over ownership of it.

Setting up VPS is easy task. If you will search online then you will get the tutorials. I would suggest, if you are unable to manage the VPS then you can go with the reseller service. You will have limited access but everything will be managed by the hosting provider. You can have your own packages in the reseller service.
