The extra long title pretty much tells it all. To explain a bit further:

I have a .com domain and my country domain .it . I plan on using WooCommerce and will use a multi lingual plugin. That way, my countrymen will have the site in their own language and English for everyone else.

I am not sure which domain should be used to increase my traffic and revenue. If I use the .it domain, will this impact the SEO for people outside my country?
Is there a plugin that would display the proper domain based on the visitors IP?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

According to me..
.com is always preferable in most cases(every cases)
.com is globally used
wherin .ur country domain will represent ur country nd indirectly will make ur country ppl feel secure from that domain(countrymen feeling -talking about normal mentality )
.com in recommended for business purpose
BUT
if your target audience is from your country ,go with you country extension

Hope this hlps a bit

Yeah it does, tnx! I believe that most of my customers will come from outside my country. Sadly the .com domain is a bit long 12 characters and easy to mistype. My country domain is really short and almost impossible to mistype.

Customers if are mostly from globe ..should go with .com
(mistype thing u had in ur mind ..mostly ppl will type in google search instead of addressbar..google might end up giving them appropriate suggestion even if they mistyped)

Did not think of this that way. Of course, the plan is to have good keywords that bring people directly to the product and not making them type in the domain name!

But is it possible to display country domain if the visitor is a local and .com domain if the visitor is from outside of my country? I could use two wordpress installations but I have a feeling that would complicate things a bit.

Which audience are you targeting? If you are going to reach audience outside of your country than .com is a must.
You really shouldn't worry about mistyping as well.

U can use any domain but in the end you have to book all the domains under your companies name because in the long run your are going to need them

depending on where to rank .. if you go for country traffic go for the country domain.
