Awesome. Do you have any list of good T1 shorteners? I did just 4 just for the testing, but now I cpild use more.
Google looks at them as authority backlinks, so they should be diverse, but I still wouldn't use the ones from low DA domains as they wouln't filter the links juice as well as high DA - tinyurl for example.
I think it is could be even benefitial to create multiple shorteners from the same domain pointing to domain.com, domain.com/?s=id1,domain.com/?s=id2 and so on ... so you get multiple links you can work with.
Did you do something like - Public PBN (some of the sellers from here) => High DA shorteners => Money site.
Does this looks somewhat safe. This is my next step
In terms of the T1, I use owly, Google, Bitly, vgd isgd bitdo etc. For the T1, I mix it up by having some pointing to T1 with a DA of at least 20, and sometimes just a random DA mix. I do use Tinyurl as well in the T1.
You could use the numerous shorteners for various pages on your site, but remember that doing this can result in it looking spammy since it's not varying your backlink profile.
Yep, I've used @eatingMemory for that exact purpose on the PBN front.
As an aside, I bought a package on seo clerks that had GSA made URL shorteners in it. They were complete shit and are gone already, even though it was only marked as complete 36 hours ago. I'd recommend either making the Tier 2s manually (it'll take forever), or use dedicated software.
Also for my post above, it was supposed to be that there are 10 301s in tier 1, not tier 2. I can't change that typo now.

I guess you used up to 800 blog posts.
Did you use PBN =============> Shorteners ===========> Money Site?
And did you by any chance tested the difference when pointing the PNB directly to a web 2.0?

I did. For numerous parasite pages I tried pointing the PBNS at it and the ranks were good. I also tried tiered 301s with GSA and the results were good. When I used both together, it worked exceptionally well.

Awesome - I am going to try the PBN in the next case study. I plan to do this strategy and a few more on 2 money sites (in this study).

The ranking position is still between #15-17. It was #22 before the case study.

No I didn't do anything after the initial blast. Just wanted to update everybody about how long lasting the ranking is.

Update:
Now the original keyword is on #11 - #13 and in keyword finder the difficulty of the page was 20 now is 50 because the spammy links have increased the PA to 40+ and it shows 45 links poiting to the page.
So the ranking has improved significantly. But it did took several months for that without doing anything just waiting

agree. I did my fare share in 2012 with GSA.
end I tested a whole bunch of tiered spam from different sellers.
all that is nice to:
keep you waiting for months.
hoping to reach page 2.
and be stuck at page 2.
and if you get to page 1, you just hope no competitor shoots some serious links to / to increase his overall authority.
but, yes. you can "rank" no comp keywords with crap.
however, approx 1 year later , 90% of your links are gone and so will be your # too.
where as 1 year later sticking links still help you increase #

But anyways these links rank you for some time. And the rankings last I guess for 1 year or so or even more ... and you can keep blasting if you want to and the rankings will last oven longer.

Even I have used web 20s with gsa blast and ranking stayed for 6-8 months but when gsa links disappeared so did few positions of my rank. Lost 3-4 positions (was rank 1 for buyer keyword) with 4K links from GSA. The web 20s remain though. You need to keep building GSA links to those properties - this is my personal thought.
But I can see you want to keep things different with this case study so keep going on.

Great to hear about your success. It can take a while for the links to kick in (and other times it happens really quickly), but it's definitely a great way to pump up web 2.0s.
