would long form content have a higher page bounce rate?

I do understand that long form content is obviously awesome if it's value packed

not only can you have a better email opt-in rate, but the content will make the site be seen as an actual authority.

but i was thinking, wouldn't the user get annoyed by the giant ass content then compared to a 1000 word article? wouldn't the bounce rate increase and the person would search for a shorter article?

and i know i said that the opt-in rate would be greater in long form. But would it really?

i mean i get how it all depends on what my traffic is seeking, but say it's for a kw ' types of spaceships '

and i write a long ass content of spaceships vs a short description of spaceships, if the bounce rate would be more or if someone just bookmarks my long article for later read, would it not be better to use the short content, that way atleast they can read it and i can have a better opt-in rate. but then will my ranking be effected by this?

obviously this wouldn't be the case for a kw like ' best house buying guide ', because that traffic will be spending lots of $$ for a house and would WANT long content. hence increasing an email opt-in rate and lowering bounce rate

Design your content so that it's easily skimmable and the problem mostly solves itself. Ex:

• HEADING 1
• [100 words]
• H2
• 100 Words
• 200 words as a bulllet list
• Giant quote of main point
• 100 words
• H2
• 100 words
• Image with 50 word caption
• 100 words
• H3
• 100 word bulleted list
• H3
• Another giant quote with a main point
• 100 word bulleted list
  
• H3
• Image with 50 word caption
• 100 word bulleted list
  
• H2
• Etc etc

Plus bold/italicize/underline/highlight important terms throughout the article.

Instead of having numerous pages closely related to a single keyword, it works best if you have properly arrange content that covers the keyword in depth.

You really need to break the content up for sure long chain keywords are tricky as they are hard to work in naturally. I focus more on like words and similar terminology around applicable content to the subject.

You have to watch this though semantic and LSI Keywords can be tricky. For instance with us Caterer, Catering are the same word to Google this is happening more and more. So I can say we are a great caterer would you like to use us for catering ... this is where it gets tricky because you use those two separate words too much and they are creating too much keyword density for that search term a lot of people do not think of that with their LSI keywords.

I have experimented with this a lot on our pages and we got better ranking when I searched like keywords with google and noted which ones brought up the exact same search those are the keywords you have to be careful with over using on a page or trying to rank other pages thinking it is a different keyword when to Google it is not.

Use the Google search box it is your friend!

you should go and see it on his thread, in the content section. it's a good read the whole thread really but for what i am talking about, you should prolly read the content part.
