[GUIDE] How to start with Youtube and build up a solid channel

This is an awesome thread.

:) I have a question about the views however.

Which type of views are your using?.. Slow drip feed? High retention instant? From which countries are your views being added from?

I have a channel of 17k and I know that all the above metrics matter. Perhaps you can PM the specifics. I would love it if you can give the specific vendor you get your views from, and the type. Dude it will help out load as im planning my 2017 YouTube strategy.

!

Yes! I will be posting more guides in the upcoming month, especially on certain topics with Youtube.
  • How to avoid copyright
  • How to properly edit a video
  • (...)
Can't wait for your guides man. Really loved this one. Of course I want to start YT journey as fast as possible. AND no pressure on you take your time buddy. :)

Is it better to do longer or shorter videos?

Regardless of the niche, having in mind metrics and YT algos.

Simple answer: If you have a good quality video, then go with longer videos (That increases the watch time of your video if people actually like it and watch it till the end -> and that will increase the ranking because that is one of the highest ranking factors in Youtube nowadays) - However, if your video is crap, then do a short one, lol

I always use HR - Views. I tried dripfeed but it only helped me once out of like 5 times.
To make it look more natural you could buy HR Views, Comments, Likes and a couple of dislikes.
Look in BHW for View provider and test a couple of them out. Make notes of how fast the views were delivered and check the analytics on the video (for watchtime etc.)

Nice Thread,
Just a Short question. I am in the Top X niche that means I create Videos like "TOP 7 MOST DANGEROUS BEACHES IN THE WORLD".
If for example a big Youtuber has already Made a Video about Beaches would you advice me to also make one? Of course I won't Copy his Video one by one. Or is it a better ideas to create a Video that is about a Topic no other YouTuber has ever talked before.

Honestly, no. I tried the "Top X of bla bla" niche and failed bad. That was due to the fact that the topics were already covered. If you wanna stay in the "Top X..." niche then i suggest you brainstorm some ideas, write them down and check if someone has/hasn't made a video on it. If not, then go for it -> Could turn out awesome if the quality + overall video is good.

There is one exception however.. If you know how to make your video rank instantly on Page 1 and basically outrank the competitors video, then i am sure you can do the same niche as well.

Awesome thanks for the clarification. Are you not concerned about which countries the views are coming from? Or in your case it did not matter / was not a big sticking point when you ordered?

Covering that would be pretty cool to me.

I actually do care, i always make sure they are from a Tier 1 country. However, i do not monetize them while bought view are coming in

Finally, I started a new channel. I will try to be as serious about it as possible with frequent uploads and pushing social media. I'm also subscribing to TubeBuddy basic package.

how can I find keyword with high cpm?
I would consider anything high cpm aimed at an older age demographic or mobile content like specific iOS or Android videos. I think they are less likely to use Adblock

Agreed.

Example
Gaming Videos = Low CPM but high popularity
Anything which has to do with Kids (Reviewing Toys for example) = High CPM

Excellent post. Tons of great info. This should be stickied

You guys talk about videos that go viral... But how much will a person make.. for a vid that had 10k...50k...100k... 1m views?...

If you can get 100k natural views on 2 days... is that techntechnicaly "viral"?

And does it drop off before 200k?...

I know not all vids get viral... But how much u I make if u do get 100k views... like 10-50$??? Then it gives you 1-10$ for that video unless it's viral again??? I just want some numbers so I know exactly what I'm getting into

You can consider a video viral if it pops out from your stats, this is relative for small channels. It indicates what you should choose as a topic for your future content. CPM is not only influenced by niche, you need to share engaging content so your video's retention time will not be trash.

There a lot of ways to make more than that if you are vlogging for example, if you make compilation videos or gaming streams you could still try to promote some stuff. Or am I wrong?

Not sure if there is any product suitable for compilation videos. If you know any share it, please. For gaming, it's easy to find stuff. The good thing about these niches is it's easy to push content because it takes no effort to produce it. Vlogging is not my cup of tea. Don't wanna share my messed up life with anyone. :'D
