Yeah, I'm a bit surprised that I even managed to make more than a dollar online. Given the kind of person that I am and how I function, it was no small feat.

Lol, this was one of those things that got to me pretty hard. When you are sitting there at 2 am writing articles and start wondering, "wtf am I doing with my life?" and " so... when will it be mine turn to get rich??". I never thought it would take this level of dedication to get anywhere in IM.

Once I get a new phone I'll see what I can do.

It's the dilemma of being a spiritual person in a carnally-minded society. I believe in God, so it makes it twice worse. Not only do I believe that reality has a purpose, but that most people have failed before they even began. It's a pain in the ass believing in the importance of a community, but knowing that because most people (those of whom I am thinking of, not necessarily every nation on Earth) are blind sheep, they will fuck it all up either way.

Very difficult not to be cynical and nihilistic about it all, lol.

This is what I enjoy -

I'm a simple person. Sometimes I play games, sometimes I listen to music on YouTube, and other times I might be outside clearing out the grass. I'm becoming closer to a country-bumpkin than I originally was. I don't know how to monetize my lifestyle, but I'm sure I'll find what works for me eventually.

Did you seriously just copy/paste what Billy_Batts wrote? Oh, trying to get those 15 posts in before the ban? I miss the downvote ranking system. :(

That's fine man. Just live your own purpose is what I'm getting at. If business adds to it.. that is great. If your life purpose is to be a starving artist or something that is fine too.

You sound young, so at least you didn't wait until the age of 45 to come to this realization. Maybe you could sell ebooks about living a more simple life. Many people wish for this but want their hand held in achieving it.

Ugh, this multi-quoting thing is not fun, lol.

I am studying in top university in my country.

However, I enjoy my job so much that i consider it as an art! Marketing is my love

If marketing were my love then I probably wouldn't have created this thread. I would have been out there on the internetz making sweet passionate Cx to it.

Yea this is definitely not a get rich quick scheme. Not at this stage in the game, learn this as a hobby and I'm sure you will enjoy it much better!!

I really freaken hope so.

Well I am no millionaire but what I can tell you from my experience is the fact that IM is NOT only about spamming and churn n burn stuffs. I am a full time web developer by profession so I am closely related to the IM world. I have worked and working with people who actually enjoy their work quite a lot!

Fortunately, IM is not a single niche! So, what you are looking for really is what you like to do. First find what you love to do, and find what is missing out there. Then bridge the gap and sell it to the right people! This might sound easy but it is not actually easy to do, but then.. that's what you are looking for! If making money on the internet was easy, then everyone who knows how to start a browser would be billionaires by now lol.

If you look at the biggest businesses in the globe, you will find something common in them. Almost all of them have some product that solves some problem.

Many people will disagree with me here, but I personally think that spamming isn't a way to grow business. I would rather try building a business that is going to grow with me, rather than the churn n burn ones.

Most importantly, you should brainstorm and find out what you like, then improve what is currently available in the market. That's how to do it IMHO.

Again, I am no guru by any means.. Just wanted to share what my thoughts are. :)

Best of luck!

I'm mostly complaining about black hat methods. I think I had better results when I did things legitimately. With the plus side of having some peace of mind. It's so easy to be tempted by those instant munies schemes.

Well good! There's always room in the business, you just need to find what works for you. For me, I feel much the same way you do. I want an authentic life with authentic relationships, so this business is the way I'm able to spend more time with my wife and kids. I enjoy figuring out how things work, which is what has allowed me to maintain my interest in this for as long as it has.

YUS, authenticity is what I need. Well, I'll keep searching then.

I don't understand how can one enjoy any kind of work, but looks like it's about me rather. It is all about money.

I don't put too much importance on money for several reasons. One of which because money is susceptible to inflation, market crashes, etc. Just as surely as people eventually die, so does money lose its value over time. Nothing lasts forever in this finite life. You have to invest in natural resources (gold, gems, oil) and build businesses or otherwise your money will all but vanish into thin air.

No,no, only during that learning curve frame, it's like that, then I'll get to "collect the gems", not to mention that I'm not just learning, but also playing in between. I mean, being able to smash your opponent, being in the higher league it's great.

Why do soccer fans watch Messi, Ronaldo and pro games? Because they fantasize about being there, playing like them, because it's also out of their league. Don't you want to get things that you can't normally get? Scarcity at its beauty.

There are bodybuilders out there who enjoy doing it, but do you really think those hard working hours were enjoyable? Definitely not. But they are now big muscle guys as they are collecting the rewards. Kudos to them.

Even @mancar487 said that at first you'll smash your head over your keyboard, so don't listen me, listen to mancar. For example, I want to create games, or make a fully functional website, but the coding is an obstacle to me. If I had the knowledge to build games, that's what I do.

I don't base my knowledge on other's people studies. I base my knowledge based on my analytics skills, figured out things, experience, you get it.

"The scientists say" most of the time is just BS imo. "Scientists said that if you watch women breasts every day, you extend your life by ~5 years".

That's so vague and doesn't provide anything. Hell, I can even invent one by myself: " Scientists said that if you have one testicle bigger than the other, you last 15 minutes longer in bad". See? Means jack shit.

You just think you're. You think you're diffenrent, a special snowflake, but you're like everybody, at least from your "inner core", the way of our brain is wired. I mean, if you'd be truly different, then marketing would be a hella hard game.

And from a rational POV, You probably think you're smart. Guess what?

Anybody thinks that.

I believe anybody is like that. Coffee's effect doesn't comes into play until after 30-60 minutes. My father fall asleep at least 2-3 times after I made him coffee. If somebody thinks coffee is having any effect in the first 10 minutes, that's just placebo, I'm pretty sure.

About alcohol, it depends honestly: if you talk about beer, well I hate it too. And generally, addicted people are just trying to escape from reality. Like I did with gaming...

What you don't realize is that your thinking or mindset is limited by the borders of your brain. Just because you think that you identified 2 paths, doesn't means there aren't others.

Back in 2013, I used to sit outside, thinking about conceptions of life, and how important I thought I am. I was egocentrist at a pro level, I thought world surrounds around me, and that my ideology was correct. I couldn't see how bad I was. Not saying that you're in the same spot as me, you're way better than me, it's just that you don't see beyond of how much you can process now.

But you will, at least I did. I was helped by environments, and my logical brain figured stuff out of the box.

There's a fine line between knowing you are different and thinking you are. Since I don't fit in with most groups - I can safely say that I am different from people in general, lol. Many rational minds will still attempt to put you into a box that they want to label. It doesn't work that way because there's a physical side and a spiritual one. Science only ever attempts to understand how our physical plane of existence works. Conventional wisdom will only teach what you need to know to get by in life through years of experience and adaptation. However, there's a different side that most people do not see because they are too preoccupied by their perception of this life.

Welcome back, bro.

@Elin Dotsya, don't sweat it. Doubt and failure are all part of the process. If you jumped in and were successful immediately, you would have learned nothing. It takes time. Took me a few years to find something solid and run with it.

A few years? Didn't you write once that you made 10k from your first client?

Choose a method from BHW
and Do Much research and add some twist
and you are ready to earn :)

A twist is not an actual object. It can literally be anything. To some it is as easy as saying, "1+1=2" but I have no idea what it could be.

^^^This^^^

I've been a member here for about 4 years now. Never made any decent money online. Why do I stay? Because I enjoy being here and I firmly believe one day I will strike gold. I have been too busy in my day job to dedicate all my time to this but my industry is now dead so I have no choice but to diversify.

Not sure which way I will go yet, I'm fortunate that I still have an income to keep me afloat while I choose my next move so hopefully I can change direction soon and start something new.

Only you can decide what you're going to do though.

Then that is what I will do... whatever it may be.

NO, you don't have to spam to make money in IM. There are numerous methods to do it in a decent manner. But yes, if things are boring then you are not gonna enjoy doing it as the first few months/years is all boring stuff.

I'll find something that is not boring then.

Pick a niche you actually are interested in.
I am interested in vidya gaemz.

I don't want to look like another guru here...but try this:

Don't chase methods that promise you a lot of money and success.

Instead, start a blog with something you are interested in, a hobby, a passion, e.g. travelling blog.

Write about 'your travels', build a community, learn some SEO to improve your rankings, keep writing, grow your community...and DON'T THINK about money (yet).

After 1-2 years of actively taking care of your blog and writing engaging, interesting articles...you will find yourself with a huge valuable community that love what you do and want to support you.

Also, in that 1-2 years you will learn SO much more about 'travelling' (the stuff you love) just from your article writing/researching. You will be more confident, you will know EXACTLY what your community wants, and you will figure out much easier how to monetize your blog.

Cheers

1-2 years? That sounds very white hat. I want to learn how to monetize whatever I enjoy doing.

@Elin Dotsya , your problem is common one. You lack willpower. Walls of texts in this thread won't help you. Life is eating shit until you start to enjoy it. Stop saying NO. Because "enjoying" is related mostly with familiarity. Something outside of comfort zone produces stress, and isn't enjoyable because it requires huge brain effort or induces fear. Fear of unknown and fear of failure. Once you build a habit, brain starts to like it. I have tried so many things in life, both online and offline.

Everyone who REALLY tried, made some money. I'm sure of it. Really tried does not include : only thinking about it, reading, planning, having ideas, scrolling forum, doing things that don't benefit anyone or doing things that are never seen by people.

QUIT BITCHING BITCH, slap yourself, quit babbling about metaphysics, and do something already, do it for 18 hours a day and you'll make it 100%. Working less comes later. Don't worry.

Or don't. Live life of majority, stuck in excuses loop.

Lol, that first paragraph -- just how many psychology books did you read to come up with it? I've heard so many different things like this. I mean just reread it again. It sounds like the Sith code -

Peace is a lie. There is only Passion.
Through Passion I gain Strength.
Through Strength I gain Power.
Through Power I gain Victory.
Through Victory my chains are Broken.
The Force shall free me.

Come on. All these inspirational quotes are not going to solve my dilemma. I remember watching a Soviet era documentary about how people are not individuals but part of a whole. In groups they fall under peer pressure and do what everyone else does so as not to feel out of place. But in essence it's all propaganda from both sides. One says this and the other says that. Then you pay attention to how you react and find that it doesn't actually apply to you. The variables work in different ways. Life is not some one size fits all story.

Lots of people don't like working, but they still have to work. There are a lot of career paths in the world, but none of them are enjoyable 100% of the time. If the result of being successful in IM allows you to lead the type of life you want to lead, then you should try to learn more until it becomes more enjoyable. Fragmaster is right on - "enjoying" is related to familiarity. Learning something new and difficult is not that enjoyable in real life. If you became successful in IM and 5 years from now have the freedom to work online and live the type of lifestyle you're dreaming of, you wouldn't be saying you hate IM and spamming, you'd be saying "I'm glad I persevered and learned something new and difficult."

So keep challenging yourself, keep looking for niches and twists that make the day-to-day grind more interesting and rewarding for you. Build a social media account or blog in a niche that interests you. You can keep learning the technical skills you need while your account or blog grows and gives you the encouragement you need to continue. Then by the time it's big enough maybe you'll have the knowledge to monetize it. Once you start making some money, I'm sure you'll find IM more enjoyable. :)

...or I could burn myself out, lose a lot of money and not get any closer to my goal 5 years from now. When we are dealing with IFs then anything could be a possibility. What you call perseverance can also be called foolishness. I'm not saying a person shouldn't try to achieve something. What I'm saying is that I have walked down that path and realized that it's not for me. I want to do this at my pace.

I already do make "some money". I'm still waiting for the moment that everything clicks and I enjoy what I'm doing.

That's fine man. Just live your own purpose is what I'm getting at. If business adds to it.. that is great. If your life purpose is to be a starving artist or something that is fine too.

I think these realizations should have come to me when I was in my teens, but they didn't for a number of reasons. I would love for someone to hold my hand through it all, but that's obviously an unrealistic expectation.

I started this reply in a better mood. So I'll just post it now before I say anything too extreme.

you know what boy? i think you should stop fucking winning about how IM isn't working for you. Instead of waisting hours by posting how lame and hard it has been for you, you should be searching and learning. Judging from you comments and the way you act, For NOW IM isn't for you and if you keep approaching this as a get rich easy opportunity, you will never have success. My advice is to shut a fuck up and get to the work or just leave!

There's always jobs for flipping burgers etc, if this is too difficult and not quick enough.

Maybe you were expecting the Paypal Money Generator to be real ?

Op has answer for everything, which means that his rationalization and other defensive mechanisms are so strong and rooted in, that he can't change as a person anymore.
Elin, stop overthinking. Once you have enough money to live few years without working just go and do whatever you want. Chance is that you will fall in love in thing that made you rich and empowered. There are so many older members around here, who could quit working, but something is holding them docked here.

Elin , im one who can say i LOVE my WORK. I play games very good, and charge for powerleveling. I own internet caffe and socialize with gamers everyday. I have other smaller gigs that i outsource and spend very little time on them. I'm not rich. But im happy and love every day of my life. And im telling you that philosophy didn't build that, but blood and sweat. And i certanly didn't start out doing things that i love

Yes, but it took me a few years of shitty sites and failed ideas before securing that first client.

Fuck yea i love hearing some real rough starts. I had my own pc repair shop, which was a nightmare. Living in a country with lower income, you can't charge much, you have to deal with ancient equipment, to have godlike skills. I expected installing systems and cleaning virus infections will be easy peasy work, but i ended up soldering MOBOS and laptop adapters everyday. Fuck that. I hated it. I worked 7 days a week. I had to deal with douche bags and cheap fuckers. I was nobody, just a slave paying off bills and my shack. But i came out of it strong, dedicated and hardworking. I was forged into man. Man doesn't cry, he laughs at hardship and beats it.

Although I won't argue it is true, but $1000000 used to be 'considerable' amount of money 10 and 20 and 30 years ago and I really doubt it'll have no value even after 50 years. Yes, some of its value is lost, but nothing like oil bought in say 2011 nowadays (price dropped 2.5 times or around).

U mad? Read the OP again, phaggot. I didn't say that I wasn't making any money. All I said was none of the methods so far have been satisfying and made me feel like I'm not just wasting my time. Maybe when I start making a shit-ton more, then we'll see.

I'm not smart enough to flip burgers. Teach me, Senpai.

That's what happens when one has no life.

Yes, but it took me a few years of shitty sites and failed ideas before securing that first client.

For fuck's sake, could have said that from the get go. All you wrote was something like this, "Was working at Subway for a year and learned about customer service. Opened a business online and made 10k from my very first client." Yes, I'm paraphrasing and can't remember which thread that was from.

Elin , im one who can say i LOVE my WORK. I play games very good, and charge for powerleveling. I own internet caffe and socialize with gamers everyday. You know... you don't need to work your ass off to achieve that. The problem is very few things interest me. Whether or not I'm making money - I end up dropping it because I don't give a crap about what I'm doing. Do you understand that I worked in several joint ventures and stopped doing them? I even had one member give me a FREE 8k (don't recall how many, lol) sub IG account (pets niche) and I was like, "Naw, I don't want to do this." Some people might call me a potato for my choices, but whatever.

Yeah, tell me about it. The guy who tried to fix my phone couldn't do it. Then another repair shop changed the LED lights (or at least I think they are LED) on my monitor, but it still died, lol.

When you are sad, you cry. It's more cringe-worthy denying that men cry. Is that what you call "machismo"?

Although I won't argue it is true, but $1000000 used to be 'considerable' amount of money 10 and 20 and 30 years ago and I really doubt it'll have no value even after 50 years. Yes, some of its value is lost, but nothing like oil bought in say 2011 nowadays (price dropped 2.5 times or around).

Tbh, I don't know much about that shit. I'm forced to write half serious messages cause evidently many members lack the reading comprehension needed.

"You won't succeed with that attitude", "stop whining and start doing", "pick a method and do twists". Wow, talk about rehashed comments.

Also, this is the Lounge, not the Making Money sub-section. It's a place to rant and chat, is it not? Almost anything goes here!

Forget methods... they come and go like the wind and are fine for a quick buck here and there. Even the FB method I posted that has some 170 pages is a method and not sustainable for the long term without making copious adjustments.

Build a sustainable business using a business model that will give you long term satisfaction by providing something of quality to someone in need.

Actually only time i cried in last 20 years was when my mom passed away. I can't say if im sociopath, or if surviving 2 wars in person made me fucked up, but one thing is sure, im resistant to low level stress events.

Thank you for paying attention to what I wrote. That's my concern with those methods. So many of them come and go. Everything is about doing it while it's still hot. Then it gets patched, your comments get ghosted, your accounts get banned, you lose traffic, you site gets delisted and blacklisted on blogs/ news sites. Then you sit there thinking, "well that was stupid."

Remember those PUA eBooks that were on torrent sites and some lad rewrote them and made 4 figures within a few days? Someone else probably tried it and got a piracy notice warning from their ISP. Yeah, everything short-term is a kind of risk that's rarely worth the effort.

I do want to start my own business. I'm thinking about what I want to do and what my current plans are. So far, I'm still looking.

Blackhat method execution is easy, but pace of change isn't. When one gets tired of cheating the systems, he turns whitehat.

Everything is not like that but we see an awful lot of that on here... to be straight up I still do the FB stuff as it is easy as pie but the 3K and 5K days have passed. All methods have a life expectancy which is why you only do it as a side thing.

I do want to start my own business. I'm thinking about what I want to do and what my current plans are. So far, I'm still looking.

Take your time and ease into the ideas... go for a walk and kick around what kind of business would be satisfying. Look at the pros and cons and see if that would not only be satisfying but sustainable and profitable and also give your clients something that will make them smile as they lay their head on their pillow at night.

It actually all comes down to what you like or not, nothing wrong with not liking internet marketing. 2 of my closed friends quited their sexy accounting jobs because sitting on their ass all day is "just not them", now they are a plumber and a pastry chef.

I personally love marketing and business, online/ offline/ self-employed or not, doesn't really matter to me, as long as it involves marketing then i am good.

Finally the monthly "comfort elin" thread has arrived. Good luck bro, don't give up!

There are people that talk a lot and say nothing. And there is BTB, who does quite the opposite.

I think crying for yourself is more of a weakness than crying for someone else. I normally don't cry in public. It seems that little stuff affects me more than big stuff. A few years ago I was living in central Ukraine where there was war going on in the neighboring cities. When you see bad stuff on TV, you get a sense of "glad that isn't happening here". In reality, you still go about your business as long as the opposing forces are not right near your door step, lol.

Blackhat method execution is easy, but pace of change isn't. When one gets tired of cheating the systems, he turns whitehat.
The constant need to adapt and change tires the crap out of me. I'm looking into things that are more stable.

Speaking of taking a walk, we sure have lots of snails this year. The weather seems to change on the go. Just last month after spring began, we had a foot or so of snow. It was the weirdest thing ever. It snowed so much that branches broke from the weight. The capital city had fallen trees on the roads and cars couldn't go anywhere. A winter paradise in spring.

I'd rather do IM than be a plumber, tbh. Sewage water is disgusting. I can tell you that from experience. Nothing motivates me to work online like cleaning out the septic.

Finally the monthly "comfort elin" thread has arrived. Good luck bro, don't give up!

I appreciate your comfort. ;) I'll give up seeking a better life once I'm dead. Who knows when that day will come, lol.

Whew, that's all for tonight, folks.

Meh, I really don't like quoting everyone's post. Gotta do something about that.

1-2 years? That sounds very white hat. I want to learn how to monetize whatever I enjoy doing.

It's up to you how you grow your blog in 1-2 years. Be it white hat or black hat... Take out from your head the fact that black hat will bring you money overnight.

Cheers
