I am really really disappointed!
Customer service is so slow, and i'm having one of the worst experience with paid wp plugin in the last 10 yrs.

That's what happened: on April 26 LJN stopped to work on my website (an Italian news blog). Neither me nor the sever manager made any change.
The error log file of the website sent me this :

There's hundreds of this errors every hour.

But Michael Sherriff said it probably was an error of mine.
I checked everything: CURL, PHP version, Disabled all others plugins, Changhed WP Theme. EVERYTHING. Plug in still not work.
I gave them an admin access to my wp. Nothing happened.

Every day since 26 i ask inside the ticket i've opened to fix, or to have a skype support because of the really slow answer time (they answer once a day, often with an useless question)

10 days to fix a bug.

Does anyone else reported something like this?

Hi, as it was explained to you, that error is related to the GEO location service that the plugin is linked to. It is beyond our control to avoid that happening with their system although we can move to a different 3rd part service.

That error message can be prevented from showing within your WP admin.

I am sorry that the support isn't as fast as you expect although we don't have a service level agreement on response times for support.

As for the support replying with a useless question, it may seem pointless to you but there are questions we need to ask so that we can rule out certain causes of an issue. In fact, your ticket has just been replied to with a question that you may class as pointless but I assure you it's not. If we don't ask the question how are we supposed to get to the cause of an issue?

Shez, i disappoint with the fact that in 10 days you have solved nothing. As i said "LJN is a great tool" once, now i say that custom service is very very low profile. This is not the average quality expected from a (well) paid plugin.

Yeah, I am sorry that the support needed to go back and forth looking in to the issue and requesting further information. The response times could have been faster.

We try to deliver great value with all of our plugins and by making the Like Jacker, currently, a one time payment with lifetime updates and support, we feel it does provide great value.

This value is demonstrated further by the fact that the plugin is able to deliver 1,000's of real FB likes over a 12 month period and that you can use the plugin for years.

Based on paying FB ads for likes to your FB page, which can cost around 20cents each (at least) then those 1,000 likes from the Like Jacker, over a 12 month period, are worth around $200.

Many customers are able gain a lot more than 1,000 likes in a year so the value the Like Jacker delivers is very high as the plugin can be purchased (currently) for as little as $37. I'm still getting likes on a daily basis, so it's good to see that the plugin is still being updated with tweaks to make sure it stays one step ahead of the game with Facebook. The thing is, the people that have liked the pages are actually staying around. This is totally different to the SMM panels available here and elsewhere that has the number of people that liked the page falling off after x amount of time.

Hi, I am sorry that you feel $37 is too much for the like jacker 3 site license and that we should be offering a single site license for $12 (or something). We used to offer a single site license and it was $37 but we changed that to a 3 site license to provide even better value.

We don't offer a discount on the 3 site license as we feel that $37 is already a low enough price for the plugin.

You still have not solved my problem. I feel fooled.

We are still looking in to your problem. Actually, "I" and still looking in to the issue. It's a difficult one to nail do as the plugin was working on your site, then you changed to a different site and the issue started. You said the sites are on the same hosting which is a private VPS. I know that I already mentioned that VPS hosting is the one that can vary a lot between hosting companies.

There are only so many things that we can test from an end user standpoint. This includes making the WP setup a basic one and making sure all the settings of the like jacker are set to 'default' which means it should show the pop up.

When all of those things are set and the pop up still doesn't show then we look towards the hosting. We are not a hosting company so we're not experts in that field. Because we're not experts there we can't advise you on exactly what setting may need checking within the setup of the VPS.


And that's where things become long and drawn out. Your hosting company isn't a WP plugins developer so that won't now exactly what to be checking for at their end which only adds to the difficulty.

I am 99% certain that the issue is within the setup of the hosting.

The tests that we ran on your site and with the like jacker are the same tests we use when testing the plugin for all customers. It's a basic level set up that allows us to rule out the cause of the issue being caused by either the theme, another plugin or the like jackers settings.

When the pop up fails to show with these base settings then the only thing it can be is something within the web hosting itself.

"I had to restore php 5.5 because that's the only version with which the plugin works. It should be soon a problem because 5.5 is an old version and cpanel does not support it anymore. They should make it compatible with php 5.6 or 7 soon, or the problem will be back again"

Anyway, the problem as Michael said, seems to be (partially) to the server side. For this reason a must said (partially) sorry, i'm not a developer nor a Sistem Eng but just a "victim" of this php version problem.

I have a problem like yours, after 1 year of likejacking fine it stopped working fine in all of my websites.

You were more lucky that you could fix it, but thanks to your post i think you can help everybody that has this problem.

I also have version 5.6 installed and maybe that is the reason of my problem.

I sent a ticket day 21 of april, just 2 responses, 1 asking if i had installed last version of the plugin and the other asking for access to website, but nothing new at the moment.

I hope michael gets a new update of the plugin fixing all this.

My traffic numbers the past 3 days and this is unique traffic all coming from US and majority through FB:

Can you explain to me what my visitors will see the modal if coming through the FB app and not mobile browser?

For some reason, I think this is affecting my count, although I am seeing a nice 700 fan increase over the past couple of days, based on these numbers I would have thought I should have gotten maybe at least 3-5K (since I know not everyone is likejacked), but especially since I know these people are logged into FB since analytics show that's where they're coming from.

Update: because of the php 5.5, to make LJN works i had to uninstall some important plugins (like Hide Adsense Ads ) which are not compatible with this obsolete php version.

I ask Michael, will you make LJN compatible with php further versions, or it will stay 5.5?

However, on a side note, gaining 700 new likes in two days with the like jacker right out of the gate is very likely to cause FB to place a confirm like button on your site. We advise customers on the issues of gaining too many likes too fast in the user guide and link to an article on our site in the welcome email.

Hi, When the like jacker was first created over 2 years ago it was coded with PHP 5.5 which means the minimum PHP level on a site where the jacker is installed must be 5.5 or above. We have the like jacker working on a number of our sites where the PHP version is newer that 5.5 and it's not causing any issues. Of course, I will ask the development team to look in to any issues caused by a server having a a PHP version much higher than 5.5 being an issue but a server that has PHP 5.6 won't cause an issue. I know this as we have servers with that PHP version and we have servers with much newer versions of PHP and the like jacker works fine on those too.
