hey so i'm an aspiring youtuber/comedian and I got an instagram with bout 3.7k fans. And I had an idea on creating a youtube channel where i review/react to viral videos in a comedic way (kinda similar to Equals 3 by RayWilliamJohnson) and so i wanted to know if this would work out, in terms of copyright claims since the videos that i will be reviewing would be viral funny videos/vines and in some cases i wouldnt be able to find the actual original full video of it that i could keep in the description.

also why aren't there any other channels like Equals 3? do they have like a patent on the show or something preventing others from making similar videos?

It can be done but its really over done, plus do people really just want to see someone reacting to videos? It can work it can, but for how long
 
Make sure sometimes you can get a copyright from any channel claiming the video which didnt had any sole owner.
Reaction channels are a good source but sometimes youtube wont allow you to monetize few videos. Try to be under the fair usage policy like you should add 40% of your own content in the video.
 
pranks channel earnings are too low, i own a prank channel and i earn about 0.80$-1$ daily :)

I believe you'll be able to create a similar video style using other's videos due to fair use. You are essentially reviewing/critiquing the material.

You are definitely going to be hit with a few copyright claims monetising your videos as some companies such as JukinTv are buying rights to those viral videos and making money from them by claiming other people's videos who use the snippets/whole video. Like it was said above, do as best as you can to stick to the Fair use. Otherwise your videos are not only going to be monetised by someone else, but you will also end up with a few strikes that will be painful to remove (not impossible though) and may even close your channel. Keep that in mind and good luck! :)
