Hi guys, I'm pretty new to SEO and currently ranking for low competition (1) keyword.

By far I've build links to my page via high DA expired tumblrs, social signals drip feed and web 2.0 profile submission (amazon, sony etc.). Prolly will add some weeblys and find broken links to get a referral link.

Just wondering if there's any great suggestions that I should add to the mix?

Look at your competitors backlinks - ahrefs have a free trial period - should be enough to get started. Download all their links and outreach or recreate :)

Alright will do that! Anyways, just wondering how significant is the link juice of registering for web 2 profiles

Yes, but it's like most things, quality over quantity.

I just got SEMrush, and kinda been liking that. There new project feature is really cool. I can prob give you a 2 week trial no cc if you want. just send me a PM. I talked to a guy named Matt over at SEMrush. SEMrush took me a bit to get used to, but once you get the hang of navigation its pretty good.

You can try high quality social bookmark, doc sharing, question answering, if local business then local listing, competitors backlinks, internal linking, profiles on high quality social sites, blog submission etc.

Thanks for all the contributions guys !

Replies in this thread are right on. You're on the right track with what you're building, try adding in some different links as OWSTeam suggested, and look at the top 10 competitors for your keyword on Ahrefs and try to copy any and all of their links and link types.

Yea got the ahrefs free trial today and noticed that my competitors backlinks are mostly forum comments haha! So should be easy to rank my page. Also, just wondering if expired tumblr links will ever appear on backlink checkers? Saw a thread on this the other day

Most of web 2.0 went no-follow. Tumblers are do-follow but if you're using expired tumblers it may not appear in backlink checker. You ought to stay on top of what your competition is doing and follow them closely.

If you don't see any movement after building web 2.0s, comments, bookmarks and social signals, you might want to start looking into PBN posts. Of course, this requires capital, but it's all about ROI.

Start with analyzing the competitors' profiles indeed, see where they get covered. Usually you can find quite a few ideas there. You need some prominent good links apart from socials and 2.0s, so consider guest-posting, reviews, broken link-building also sounds good.

UPDATE - my page went to page 5 after a week once google's index caught up. But I have a feeling it's coz my content is pretty good as my competitors are mostly using forum comments link.

Anyways, I've registered some web 2.0 profiles with high DA. But I'm wondering if I should spam some juice to my profile link such as this - community.sony.com/profile

Or will the domain power of the website be good enough to send strong juice to my money site?

For profile links, I point more links to them for added juice.

Check whether those web 2.0s are getting indexed or not. And then build links and social bookmark those links as well as send them some social media love. Reddit is an awesome source of traffic and juice.

The web 2.0s aren't indexed yet. But also because I only started building them last week.

I got 10 day drip feed from real social signals so that must've also given the boost.

Will try out reddit since I have also heard before that it's used a lot for traffic :)

If your competitor used forum links then its really good sign to move. you can beat them by doing some quality blog commenting, web2.0 and guest post.

Before, did you check how big sites your competitors are.
