Any announcement links about it yet? All I have found is that the problems people are having so he could very well be correct when YOU dont source your info that makes you contradict yourself....

We just have to wait, in fact, my data seem to say that conversions are stable, with a slight increase.
Finding no announcement about the counters by yt, in the forum or in the help sections, I think that the problem comes from a few bugs.

I think OP is onto something here. I have been using Twitter to drive traffic to my YT videos and over the past few days, I noticed very little increases in my views. I am used to getting about 100 views/week from Twitter and now videos are barely registering a bump in views. Something is definitely related to what OP mentioned about referrer sites.

Still been running some bots not all the views I throw at it are counting but most of them are! At this point until I see a official press release about something like this I am not buying it.

yeah, just ran some test. delivered 10k+ views on a vid in less than 24 hours.

This seemed to be youtube counters being slow. Nothing more than that.

They only count views from Google, YouTube, Facebook and other approved sites, but they do not count any direct, redirected, framed or embedded traffic sources.

Apparently they haven't stopped counting views from embedded traffic yet. I have a band's video on my website. When I compared the number of hits on the article about the band over the past three days with the beginning and ending number of views they received each day the views were close.

embedded video views has never been the issue since a person has to manually click the play button.


The more important issues have been autoplay, iframes, proxys, no referrer , viewet views...

Okay one of my videos had only a few dozen views so I got it to a little bit over 300 by just reloading the page using a private proxy (did this yesterday). After that I tried to increase views on one of my videos with something like 700 views from another proxy from another country. I didn't see any instant change and after 24 hours the view count is basically the same... :/ doesn't look good

The first 300 views are the easy part. YouTube doesn't really care where they come from and allows anything to trigger the counter.

Once it runs your views through it's filter that's when you get stuck at the 300 view mark.

This is old news.

Ok first at cheep youtube views, bad language makes you look unprofessional. And your services up until the change were outstanding so dont give your company a bad face. I still use it. at Crashover hate to say it, but you are wrong.

I am a Youtube Partner. I know people at Google who have made changes to YT. The entire decision was made to stop the bh methods even if you agree or not. There are many legit services offering real advertising/views/promotion etc. They follow the YT TOS and dont use bots or proxies. These services are going to be affected temporarily while YT weeds out all the spam views, bots, etc. It is sad. But even then some of the decent promotion sites were abusing how they advertised mostly in Adwrds. Google and YT are pulling in the reins. (at)Crashover it has nothing to due with the end of YT advertisers etc. Advertisers were the biggest complainers regarding the past system. They were getting duped into putting ads on videos that were not really being watched. A lot of advertisers stopped advertising or redirected their efforts to the elite partners.

The biggest thing affected here is not adsense (if you are a partner) but the YT payout. Before you would see no link referrer numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Now it is like 10 to 50 thousand (currently ad impressions not affected) and makes the actual counted views drop.

Most of the youtube view resellers were using iframe, email, URL shorteners, forums and a whole bunch more techniques to gain views from real people but by sticking it their face. Pop-ups were the worst and got the most complaints from advertisers(and users).

Also sites offering Subscribers, Comments are walking a thin line. Channel views seem to be ok at present though. There are some real honest sites that will target other users to get them to sub, but a majority subs are coming from channels that are not used. Or just there to promote a different channel. That is why when you click on that channel it has no uploaded videos and favorites out the yinyang. Even the elite youtubers (back in the day of course) used bots. Look at the most subscribed and click through some of those channels. You will see a pattern.

The best thing to do is (if you really want to make money from YT) create good content. Or just vlog your life like ShayCarl. Uploading a video everyday for a year will get you noticed and noticed even more if you got content that no one has seen yet.

Promote your videos using legit sites, adwords, promoted videos, etc. Stay clear of sites offering you views too cheap and too expensive. If you are a partner and you run into a site that offers 100,000 for like 500 bucks you would just lose money because 100,000 views are not going to make you 500 bucks.
