YouTube-Specific SEO?

Hi everyone,

I know that most of the general rules of SEO apply to YouTube, but I was wondering if there are any SEO tactics that are specific to YouTube that will help me drive traffic to my videos?

For a monetization model I am currently planning on promoting t-shirts made on something like teespring either directly in my videos, or by linking to an affiliate offer in the description but I’m not even sure of the most effective ways to do those two things (what type of link should I use? Where in the video or description box should the link be? How many other words should be present? Keyword density? Should I link multiple offers for max efficiency? Etc.)

I want to master everything from the description box to the thumbnail (and everything else, haha) but I’m not sure where to start.

Any resources, links, ebooks etc that you think might help me would be extremely appreciated!
