YouTube killing small channels

I have a 10 second video with 500k views. Only 1.5k hour watchtime

It's quite easy to cheat the system and get those requirements for about 75 dollars or so from nothing.

That is honestly my worst fear with the new system in place.

1k subs, 0,5 million views and I get this warning. great..
seems like monthly "SMM" panel needed to keep small channels alive..
but hell, I get more clicks on the affiliate links, I am sure!

My worst youtube channel is 4 years old, has 140 videos, 1200 subscribers, and 7.5k views in the past 30 days, so stick at it, and you'll get there.
Most of these videos are just shitty photoshop tutorials, and GTA videos, and EVERYONE complains about my accent.

I've outperformed this channel with another couple of channels, so what i'm basically saying is that it shouldn't take too much to really get back there,
I bet most of you are already close, and certainly have a better voice than me!

Exactly my thought. Either go big or go home.

If you are doing it for personal fulfillment then thats cool, but dont complain for "low ad revenue" since that wasnt your goal in the first place

I have 8750 hours of watch time last 12 months but only 235 subs. I make average of $50/mo.

In the meantime, YT will be monetizing the channel while you don't qualify.

Therefore until you qualify, you're working for them for free.

I love Google more and more each day.

this is so absolutely upsetting. I was finally beginning to feel so happy with my channel, the directions of my videos and was actually in the middle of editing a YouTube video when I got this email. There is no hope for us smaller youtube channels

Adsense isn't the only way to monetize. Try physical product reviews. It works very well in terms of making money. However you will need to invest the time to create good review video and actively share them on sites like reddit (you might want to consider going blackhat here but using upvote service).

Due to YouTube's changes to the Partner Programme setting a new requirement of 1000 subscribers, I'm in need of a boost of a little under 500 subscribers before the 20th of February to maintain my passive income. I'm way over the watch time requirement so that isn't an issue.

Not many organic subscribers at all will come along in this timeframe and the increase I could get from asking people on my largest channel and friends & family to subscribe to it is insignificant. Subscribing to myself from other channels might work, but it would be slow for that many and would probably raise a few flags. Fresh channels would have to be made but last time I checked 100 could be created per Google account so that's fine.

So the easiest option in these circumstances seems to be to buy subscribers, but it's difficult to tell which services are the most legitimate - I wouldn't be surprised if some don't deliver at all. The price doesn't matter too much as the ad revenue will cover it. I also can't have the bought subscribers disappearing in a week or arousing suspicion.

Does anyone have any experience in buying subscribers here and which services seem the most reputable? Or would you recommend trying the DIY approach? I don't have the time to try and release masses of high-quality original content in a month (which people would also have to stumble across).

yes exactly and one of them was my own videos with game stuff and rest was non copyright videos with low competition and i recieved fake flags... i did try this for for 2 months and then gave up, i did nothing done as illegal. Seems like youtube become to work only with illegal attitude.


edit: also i want to add that i read some tricks from another yt forums that people are suggesting to put a few viral videos in each youtube channel account which can be viral and keep changing adsense every month so you can take your money even u lose your channel, i dont remember how old this info is.

For those (like me) who got the message because their channel did not have enough views/subs, are we even sure that it we pass this threshold before the deadline that our channels won't still be demonetized and we will have to reapply to be moneytized?
My main issue is the subs requirement, my channels content does not really provide content that people subscribe to, they view the videos then move on. So i would have to buy subscribers and I am worried that if my channel gets demonetized and google then analyize it for re-moneytization they would spot the fakes subs and not approve it or even ban it.

A serious blow to new youtubers who want to make some money out of the creativity.

Does anyone know if online youtube downloader services count towards your total view time? If they do I could upload a long video say 10 hour and then download it a bunch of times using several of these services to get my number of watch hour up as most of my videos are under 5 minutes so I will need a lot of views to reach 4000 hours before the deadline.

I'm in the same boat. Just need 765 subs but worried about paying for them just to get past this.

so you have 4000h watch time, but not 1000 subs?

Couldn't you just publish an Unlisted video that's 12 hours long and just open it in a few tabs using a VPN? Would think that would get past the hours watched eventually if you leave it run all day.

I thought i would try this, created a couple of looped videos an uploaded them as and within an hour i had 2 strikes on my account for content violations for repetitive content which is something i did not know they even checked for. So if your going to to upload a long video make sure your video isn't a loop or else you may end up with strikes like me. I now can't upload for 2 week which means i will have to find other ways of building up the video views before the deadline.
My thought for creating a long video that isn't a loop and therefore not repeating for next time is to point the webcam out of the window on to the street as even though it is a static scene there is enough movement from people and cars to mean the video will be unique all the way though.

Correct. Basically I have saturated the search results for one topic which works out really nicely in terms of views and money but very few people subscribe since there's no reason to stick around.
