Basically, Youtube changed their requirements from 10000 subscribers to 4000 hours of watchtime AND 1000 subscribers.

If you do not meet these requirements, your previously eligible account will be terminated!

Your account wont be terminated, the eligibility for monetization will cease, that's all. The way you wrote this makes it sound as though an account will be closed.

This is the message that was sent:

Under the new eligibility requirements announced today, your YouTube channel, (name taken out), is no longer eligible for monetization because it doesn’t meet the new threshold of 4,000 hours of watchtime within the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. As a result, your channel will lose access to all monetization tools and features associated with the YouTube Partner Program on February 20, 2018 unless you surpass this threshold in the next 30 days. Accordingly, this email serves as 30 days notice that your YouTube Partner Program terms are terminated.

One of YouTube’s core values is to provide anyone the opportunity to earn money from a thriving channel. Creators who haven’t yet reached this new threshold can continue to benefit from our creator academy, our help center, and all the resources on the creator site to grow their channels. Once your channel reaches the new threshold, it will be reviewed to make sure it adheres to our policies and guidelines, and if so, monetization will be re-enabled.

I apologies, it's 10000 views, not subscribers.

Just saw the monetization rules have changed. Check out your monetization page, mine looks like this. (My channel reached 10k views in Nov, 2017 and has been stuck in review since then. Now they tell me that I need at least 4,000 watch hours in the previous 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. Especially the subs is quite hard to get tbh. I can see many people bying fake subs now (good training for the google algo though ^^ )

yes, it will problem for new channel only but not for old one.

This is a MONEY MAKING OPPORTUNITY for Youtube service providers: viewing software / view exchange systems AND subscriber service vendors

Is the time frame 1 year to get them views or no ,need them within what time frame?

If my account reaches them views within a year I think your ok am I right?

I just received a message from yt where they say they've changed their policy.
The message sounds like this :

*****,
Today we are announcing changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). While our goal remains to keep the YPP open to as many channels as possible, we recognize we need more safeguards in place to protect creator revenue across the YouTube ecosystem.

What's Changing
Under the new eligibility requirements announced today, your YouTube channel, *******, is no longer eligible for monetization because it doesn’t meet the new threshold of 4,000 hours of watchtime within the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. As a result, your channel will lose access to all monetization tools and features associated with the YouTube Partner Program on February 20, 2018 unless you surpass this threshold in the next 30 days. I dont understand why they say i dont meet this limitation because i have more than 5 million minutes watched just in the past 3 months (not a year ) and also 3000 subscribers in 3 months.

Is anyone else received this message?
Thanks

Silly me...
I just figure it out that i have 2 account on one account ... i mean 2 channels on 1 account so the message is for the one i dont use.
Thank you all.
Anyway it seems that you can still monetize but after you grow your channel .

But wait when it’s time for a “review” and they find out that the views are not legit will they then ban your channel ?

suppose i have reached 4k hours views and 1200 subscribers and my monetization has been enabled. Next year i got only 2000 hours of views. Then will my monetize enabled will be lose access?
