Youtube channel views dropped

I own a youtube channel with wild animals and i add narration voice over, over the videos and subtitles. I upload shorts and normal videos almost every every each day. I used to have a lot of views the last year and make some good earnings for first time but after a demonetized for three months, my channel stopped taking views and only makes 0.40-0.80e/day and i used to make 4-5e/days and for a moment i made about 20e/day.

I use Chatgpt to create me narration voice over , tags and description.

Is it worth to keep trying on it or no? The last 8 months looks so horribly, about 10-25e/month.

I believe the shorts videos destroyed my channel. I used to take 1000 views on the first hours for my normal videos and since i started upload shorts videos, my normal videos now takes about 50-100 views max but my shorts videos takes 1000-1500views the first hours and then stops.

What would you doing in my case? You would stop trying or no?
Any advice , please?

P.S I try the last 2 months to upload only compilation videos (mixed of 2-3 videos) to make only 2-3minutes normal videos but seems that all my stats dropped more and i start upload shorts and normal videos again.

Focus on long-form videos like before and use shorts only to funnel viewers. Keep content consistent and optimized, and your channel can recover over time.

It's a little-known and big mistake to post shorts when the main content is in long videos, because short clips take all the views away from long ones. This is a fact that I tested on YouTube.

I wouldn’t quit, but I’d stop jumping strategies.


The demonetization likely reset your momentum. When views and retention drop for a few months, YouTube recalibrates around that lower baseline. It’s not a shadowban, it’s data.


Shorts didn’t “destroy” your channel, but they probably shifted your audience. Shorts viewers behave differently. If your long videos are shown to people who mostly swipe short content, CTR and retention drop. That slows impressions. It’s math, not punishment.


Switching formats every couple months also confuses the system. Compilations can work, but only if they’re tightly themed and have a strong hook in the first 15–30 seconds. Wildlife content lives or dies on storytelling.


If it were me, I’d pause Shorts for 60–90 days and focus only on solid long-form again. Fewer uploads, stronger hooks, better narration. Then stick to that plan without reacting emotionally to every dip.


You already proved the channel can make 4–20€ per day. That means it’s viable. It just needs clarity and consistency, not abandonment.
