Youtube channel growth question!

I own a sports YouTube channel focusing on the NFL, the NBA, college football, and boxing. However, I recently started to post content on my city's local college football program. I don't know what happened, but I am getting more views covering that particular team than with any other sport I cover. Recently, a considerable bulk of my subscribers have come from those videos. So should I break my channel into multiple channels focusing primarily on the NFL and the NBA? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Ask yourself who you want to reach with your channel. Do you want to be someone like Sports Centre where you cover all sports or someone that is dedicated to one sport or even just one team? I'm not a big fan in going too broad, since the majority of people is not interested in multiple sports at the same time. This means they probably will not watch all your videos at all or not until the end. I'd rather have a smaller account with a lot of engagement than a big one that barely grows.

stick to 1 sports, lots of engagement and videos.

A combination of different supports on the same channel will end up splitting your audience because all your visitors will not be interested in the same things and also for Youtube to recommend your videos, it needs to see that they perform consistently well. If you fracture your audience with some videos being radically more liked than others, Youtube will be less likely to recommend ANY of your videos. So separate channels for separate sports/audiences if you really have to and limit the one you have with your most liked content.
