All these years Y!A was giving me good traffic after I posted some good answers with links to my blog.
Now Y!A is deleting them even if it helps the questioner. It's taking a toll on my traffic.

Any other way to drive free traffic other than organic search from SEs?

Thanks!!

Ofcourse they will take them down, if you answered lot of questions with your website as a source and from the same ip

WTF! They keep track of IP for every answer ever posted on Y!A?

Same thing here.. I was doing good with YA untill recently they deleted all my accounts. Now whenever i try to add new answer, my account is instantly deleted. I guess they blacklist the domain.

just a few ideas:

post a URL to your site less often (every 5-6 answers for example)

every once in a while post a URL to a helpful, high authority site (gov, edu etc)

multiple accounts

proxies

I haven't used YA in years so I'm not sure exactly what works. I'd keep hitting it though if you're making goodm oney, just adapt and improve.

What I still do is post always a handful of sources, including wikipedia. Yeah, less traffic that way but accounts last longer :(

WTF! By me only 1 was deleted. Even though I spam like hell. Maybe it's because I use a different one every day. And my IP changes daily. But I didn't know that they can delete all my accounts.

I would suggest to make a reputation without posting link to your blog. Answer normal and easy questions and then post a link to your blog in some while high authority sites in other. In a way that you won't look like trying to promote your site with yahoo answers. Also use proxies as suggested above. You can try ZenMate for Chrome. A very nice free VPN with 5 different locations and without ads.

If you don't use blackhat techniques you can't get decent traffic anymore from yahoo answers, but that could take a very long time to build up an account (with the risk of losing it anyway)...There's a reason there's not much talk about YA anymore...

How are you answering there questions? If someones asking "HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT BASEBALL BAT" you cant just say "VISIT WWW,BASEBALL,COM. You need to write a more sophisticated answer like "The right baseball bat depends on what you need, you can choose aluminum, titanium, or even wood. I used www, baseball, com to buy my bats." answering questions like this can be better for traffic. I actually get my accounts up to lv 4 or 5 and I even get top contributor.

If they want to, they can even see if you used the same computer to do it. All sorts of information about you is sent when you connect to a server. From the accepted languages, fonts, windows version to add-ons etc etc.

Have a read about this, test yourself and switch to VM's. (Yes, plural.) Being anonymous goes a lot further than just an IP. Even if you do everything right they can still analyze the style of writing to ID you. The site I linked to is just to show you something, you shouldn't assume this is all you need to know. If logging the IP is news to you tho, it will be an eyeopener.

Have fun. :)

Just make your answers less spammy. I post my link every few answers and make sure to only write helpful quality content. When/if the question goes up for voting I use my other accounts to vote for my answer. When you get lazy you get banned. You will see much better long-term results if you put in the extra effort.

You can write the link in every post as the source of your info, as long as it's good info and you have a high lv account you wont get flagged.

that's the beauty of yahoo answers...they can always be replaced...you need not find an alternative....just post the answers again but carefully...like post only half the answers with your blog links...you should give other answers too..to avoid suspicion
