i am noob, when it comes to ranking sites. I created a wordpress site a couple of weeks back. I did not ping or do anything except install a few plugins. That was it.
the next step i did was look for products at clickbank related to my niche, then copied the articles posted on affiliate page{ did not spin or rewrite,just old copy and paste}
There are no unique articles on my site, just copied crap articles that i pulled from affiliate sites.

today i search for the keyword I was targetting and here is the results
Rank 11 out of 66 000 000 sites
Google page 1
Google adword tool deems the keyword HIGH competition keyword
no EMD domain{or whatever}

So all SEO experts explain this to me
isn't the big G only looking for unique content?
Won't you have your site not crawled if you have no original articles?
What the fuck is up with Google and its tactics of ranking sites?:confused:

Anywhere I m thinking of updating the site and include a couple of unique articles and put some adds, but I am worried with all this bizarre site placing that I might get sandboxed for having unique content!:D

Go figure!! I love you big G!! I gonna paste them copied articles until death do us part:Dlove you and love back plezzzz!!!!!:18:

Google shows results according to the sites you've visited.
So, it's possible that this ranking is not real.

how many results are allintitle ?

the adword competition is not for seo, it's for adwords...

Crawler will crawl, and see what content you have, sooner or later you will be penalized if it figures out you have duplicate content.
 
Also, there is a known effect that some new sites rank higher than they should for a couple of week. Later you see the sandbox effect, and later you rank #121.
 
You are leaving alot of info out..how many exact searches does the kw get? It might be high adwords comp but that does not mean it is high comp in a general sense.

How many intitle/in url results? how old are the other sites on Page 1?

Sometimes you get lucky and land high when google is trying to figure out where to place you. If it indeed is a high comp and high value KW you are likely to slide very soon.
 
You are doing this all wrong,

First what is the 'exact' (tick box) monthly searches?

Second 'High' in Google keyword tool does not relate to competition for ranking but competition for advertisers to bid for that keyword. It has nothing to do with how difficult it is to ranking in Google for the keyword.

again can anyone with SEO expertise explain this bizarre ranking.

We already explained it to you! How many exact searches? And High in Keywords tool is competition for advertisers to bid for the keyword.
 
bestmate- so in other words you are !!!man wtf are you sayin', did you read the post. my site is ranked with duplicate content, no original content! that is what i want to know, the reason to the why its posible that google ranked a site with duplicate content and placed it on first page?

Check out the replies you are using bad info to gauge difficulty.

Adwords difficulty does not equal ranking difficulty. total results does not guarantee total competition. Sometimes you DO get lucky and grab a high value kw or phrase but check these factors: intitle comp, inurl comp, EXACT searches per month and that will give you a better idea of the competition and the value potential value of the phrase.
 
Of course you can get duplicate content indexed and it will rank somewhere. Where did you hear that you cannot?

The point is you cannot rank high for any thing that is a half decent competitive keyword. Which is why you were asked to provide the 'exact' monthly search.

Because no one is competing with your site for the KW...so even dup content is SOME content, if 20 black hatters target the same word today and each write a unique article and add some videos and images in 5 days you will be pushed back at least 20 spots.

Additionally sometimes you get the benefit of the doubt with google and get a higher ranking than your site actually deserves, give it a few weeks and see where you are.

Finally go back and give us the REAL info regarding your competition and exact searches, that will give everyone a better idea and you will get better information.
 
google is having problems right now...anyways you should expect your rankings to go down in a few days.

After the google panda, all the websites i worked hard on, went down, and those that i haven't done much went up....it just happens
 
Need more info on your niche competitors. Make sure you clear your cookies before checking results.
 
Mogomotsi, few things:

1) Copy content ranks alright, unique content ranks better, thats is it. If copied content would lead to penalty or would not rank, what will happen to all news sites that copy feed from news agencies?

2) Well optimized, new site can get up to top5 on page 1 for some time with no backlinks.

3) Wordpress pings your blog automatically to Pingomatic - so this is how Google was informed about you.

4) I have more than 600 sites with 100% copied content and with 500-1,800 pages indexed on each. Google indexes copied content just fine, you just need to know your ways to stay under radar, as more copied content indexed = higher risk of your site getting manual review.

5) I am not sure why you are so excited. You are 11th without any link building, so you can drop position any minute (possibly within next few crawls by Google bots). If you are 11th thanks to backlinking - this is good. 11th spot without any backlinks is curse if you will sit here and wonder how it happened instead on working to get #1.
Go and grab some Bookmarks and Article submissions from providers here and hope that you can slide with this over to 1st page. Then keep building quality article backlinks once every 1~2 weeks to maintain position.

There's nothing bizzare about this mogomotsi. Duplicate content ranks just fine no matter what other people tell you, and you just proved that to yourself.

The bad news is that if the keyword is competitive, don't expect to move to the first page or even hold a top 20 ranking without putting some work into it. The new site bonus will fade soon.
 
What's the tool you used to check your rank? have you clear your browsing history? might be the cache.
