yes men be happy i think 50% of is a good deal, to bad i did not get it for 80% but oke it still is a good deal i took it

Here is why this was BS to begin with:
The promotion details were released 24H before it began.
That means that affiliates and hostgator had no time at all to inform their target audience. At least not in masses of closing down within minutes.
The second reason is that all internet marketing forums around the net exploded this information and I can assure that thousands of people were waiting (awake) to the 26th / 5AM.
Till this moment, I have yet to see anyone who managed to get their 80% deal.
What it means that this was fraud.
I was actually thinking - How can hostgator possibly oversell at 80% off..
Well, I guess it was just branding kinda BS.

Is the 50% off only good for the first month? and then bills at the normal price for mth 2,3,4..etc??

Yeah, the Inactive status means the customers haven't confirmed their payment.
Yes, it was a serious post and if you'll read my others you'll see I did make the complaint to the FCC. Why would you want to take anything that you don't have to? Guess if I had not been successful in the past with some of these b*****ds, I would not bother but as they say the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Believe it or not, some people take that kind of deceptive advertising seriously. Grow up!
LOL @ reporting to FBI & FCC because you can't get 80% off. Might as well call the FBI on McDonald's if they run out of fries

i got 1 3 year of hosting.
i had it in my cart before hand and then sent the order through right when it started.
then i emailed support and complained that i didnt get the deal...

Amen, say it again. And I am just the one you don't want to piss off with this stuff because I will take it as far as I can. Done it before, don't mind doing it again.
And if everyone would band together and complain, they would never be able to do it again. Don't just grinch--do something.
No 80%, no 50%, and was only offered 20%. See my earlier post. And I kept screenshots of it too. Will be hard to refute that.
