Hiring writers is always a better option as you will be able to better focus on traffic part that way without worrying about content creation.

I might be biased, but definitely hire! Blogs have a better chance of succeeding if you can commit to a regular (& frequent) posting schedule which can be hard to manage yourself. Keep in mind that in addition to writing, you will need to handle keyword research and all other aspects of running a blog, so it can be time-consuming.

Okay if i get you correctly, I'll have to do keyword research for content I need my writers to write about or I'll leave everything for them to handle?

That would depend on your agreement with the writer. Most writers can handle topic/keyword research but they may charge you extra, that's all.
In my opinion it depends on what's the purpose of this blog, if its personal blog you most likely would like to write it for your own, if its games tutorials and similar hiring writer is great solution.
It all depends if you want practice writing skills, which will be good for you for long term, you should try on your own

If you have the time and can produce great content yourself, you can do it yourself. But if you have other things that need your attention, for improved productivity, it's always smart to make use of other people's time by outsourcing to them.
That includes outsourcing your content writing needs.
