I tend to target businesses close by where I work so that I can swing by during my lunch hour. Failing that, take a morning or afternoon off to meet with them.
I think someone has stole the method and turned it into a WSO!

Could be wrong.
Along with this method of mailing potential clients I also like the idea of setting up a simple site in the niche and ranking it into the top 10 for 1-2 keywords the clients want.
Then you can point to it when you make your sales pitch and say that you've already got a site in the top 10. It also helps because then you have some idea of the competition and can quote them a much more exact price for what they want. This only works if the niche has lots of businesses so if you strike out there's still other people to contact. Think more generic doctor/lawyer keywords.

He first called me at 10AM and I didn't expect his call so when I saw an unknown number on my phone I started getting anxious and looked it up on Google and realized it was this auto dealer. I decided to not answer and let him either call me back later or I would call him back and in a more 'ready' mood.
At 11AM he called me back and I answered and he basically said "I'm not sure if we'll be able to work something out but I'm definitely interested in meeting you and seeing what you can do for us." so I said that I was with a client right now and that I would call them back after to set up a meeting. (I wasn't sure of my agenda when I answered so I didn't want to look unprofessionnal by taking 5mins to find a date)
So yeah, it's not a success yet but still that's a conversion rate of 1 in 8.![]()
Wings[SENSE],
Congrats on your success!
I'm interested in this reputation management thing, do you know where can I read more about it?
I mean.. What I really like to know is how can you clean first page of google from bad reviews? Build web2.0's and rank higher or what?![]()
Congratulations on getting a quick response. I wouldn't put pricing in the email, just say something like "it depends on the SEO strategy that we choose to use when we meet and i can go into more details then" at least that will give you some leeway when you do start talking. And remember DO NOT guarantee anything, just say you will do your best to get higher rankings for his site etc.
Good luck and keep us informed on how it went!
The 8 letters that you sent were they all same niche or all 8 were to different ones? Also what criteria did you use to send them letter? Was it if they had 3 stars or less rating and/or number of total Google reviews?
You need to look at Winchester's posts in this section.
My first big one was very similar. Called me back twice and everything like that, you've got that one in the bag just need to talk it out. I made an overview of my pitch, sectioned out, and had other notes with me on the guy, his business. I brought the reviews, a sheet outlining our services, a sheet with links to reputed studies to back up what I was saying about online trends etc, a printed powerpoint presentation on the basics of how the system works, a proposal of services contract that I thought they should have, and a 3-tiered general payment plan as a backup to that. I ended up getting the highest price on the 3-tiered plan if not as much as I was initially asking.
Pricing would be different if it were a car dealership or a property management company, and even then, vary by business, you need to do a little research, IMO.
Estimate how much more business you think you'll bring them and how much each customer is going to spend initially and over time. You already know from reading the threads what the general high and low is.
Looks like it, would be nice if someone could share it here. But of course someones going to steal this PURE GOLD method
