WOW! I sent out 8 letters last Wednesday and a prestigious auto dealership just called me back and wants to meet me!

He first called me at 10AM and I didn't expect his call so when I saw an unknown number on my phone I started getting anxious and looked it up on Google and realized it was this auto dealer. I decided to not answer and let him either call me back later or I would call him back and in a more 'ready' mood.

At 11AM he called me back and I answered and he basically said "I'm not sure if we'll be able to work something out but I'm definitely interested in meeting you and seeing what you can do for us." so I said that I was with a client right now and that I would call them back after to set up a meeting. (I wasn't sure of my agenda when I answered so I didn't want to look unprofessionnal by taking 5mins to find a date)

So yeah, it's not a success yet but still that's a conversion rate of 1 in 8. :D

UPDATE 16-02: Just got an e-mail from another car dealership telling me they agree they have bad reviews and want to know what can I do for them! Conversion 2 in 8 now... AWESOME!! :D:D

Great job - 1/8 is pretty great!

Is this the method which includes the dice. I understand that the original thread is gone.

How are you going to manage the ORM?

Congrats! I sent out 15 letters on my first try, got one call like two days later, went in to meet them but they already had a very similar system in place. Then someone called about a month later (unfortunately I was in the hospital when this happened, so by the time I could get back to him he didn't even return my calls). But 2/15 isn't bad when this is recurring $ in a high amount.

Sales is a numbers game, so just keep plugging away! Your first few meetings might not result in any sales, but you'll get better at the "cold meetings" over time and your conversion rates will continue to get better.

Congrats on the first success of many!

I actually put a little toy car in his letter since I was sending it to an auto dealership.

As far as the ORM, I need to look into it more but so far I plan on doing reviews funneling + Google Alerts. They only have a few negative comments and no positive comments so I don't think it would be really tough.

Hahah! I could say the same thing now. :p

Yup that's what I'm telling myself. I'm gonna prepare myself as much as I can and going into the meeting confident and it doesn't matter if I don't get the sale, it'll give me experience. (I do really need the money tho so I'll try my best lol)

I got the same results for a property management company. Not sure what to charge them though... @wings, how do you know how much to charge for your ORM services?

I'm still not sure but I plan on presenting them 2 or 3 packages ranging from $399 to $1499/month because they are a pretty big dealership with ferraris, lambos, etc. in their showcase room.

I still need to research more tho so I can come up with justifiable price and be confident when telling my prospect.

I am facing issues dealing with clients / new clients. I have a full time job so can only return calls / set up meetings on weekends which sounds very unprofessional :/

    Sucks ass FOR NOW.

Ha ha, that makes 3 of us. All of my calls go to a 888 number so it still takes me by surprise when I get a call forwarded!

I'm in the same boat - no chance you could duck outside for a few minutes to call a prospect back?

Yeah I have my lunch but the main issue is having a meeting with the client during business hours when you have a full time job as well. Sucks....

I'd love to work 4 days a week instead of 5 so I can leave that last day for meetings / cold calling / etc.

What do you do about meetings?

    UPDATE

So I just called him back and we set up a meeting next week (I said I was already fully booked - this will give me more time to prepare myself). He also gave me his e-mail and told me to send him a summary of my services including my prices.

Now what I'm wondering is, do I include my price or wait till I'm face to face with him?

This will be my first time selling face to face to a 'stranger' so I'm trying to prepare myself to the best of my abilities. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
