LOL guys for one thing tourist love to come (AND LIVE!) in my country, the authorities just don't give a damn thing about piracy. Most of the biggest DVD Stores here, are selling 95% pirated copies, LOL! And not to mention theyre selling it very very cheap, maybe less than 3 USD for a very good quality DVD!!

It can never be stopped here, we had this stupid campaign awhile back to try and get rid of piracy, but one day it started again and it goes on up till now.

I've stopped buying it tho afew years back, because yeah im in a so called music industry of my own how can i expect a good market for my music if im going to support piracy. LOL.

But yeah, for real, selling pirated stuff here in my place, is as good as selling the original one. The authorities/police just dont give a shit.

P/S: Cigarettes are cheap too. Decent marlboro (the biggest pack) cost about less than 2 USD. LOL

I would sell PORN DVDs as opposed to big blockbuster stuff. Less risk there.

Another alternative. (yes, this is horrible). Find a third party to do the selling for you, and you just do the production work. Preferably a minor whose record will get wiped. PORN moves quick in highschools I bet.

I think piracy is a serious crime only in USA, EU and other west countries where those copyright laws are made to make rich guys even more rich

Oh yeah, it's like that here. However, here the market is controlled by organized crime, like I said, not an industry you can walk into. (I'm taking on a big level. Obviously if you're peddling some shit off a flea market stand, no-one will care. But there are better ways to make money here.)

EDIT: What I meant was, all you people saying "It's illegal, this thread should be deleted, ect..." that's not the case for all countries. Just because something is illegal in your country, doesn't mean it's illegal everywhere.

They are selling it for a reason... people are too lazy to download them alone.

i'm always amazed how many people don't realize how easy it is to download movies before they hit blockbuster by utilizing torrents.

why not sell your services and install uTorrent or Bitcomet on people's computer, optimize the download speeds, and teach people how to get movies for free. charge $50-$75 for the service and make some money that way.

I would check out this video before you do something like that. From what I understand this guy may have had to pay thousands of dollars in fines. Plus DVD pirating brings in the feds.

All it takes is one guy to turn on you.

Adult movies are the best way online to sell not so many copyright issues. With late release stuff you are taking on the big boys and they protect their turf and have the legal muscle to do so. Offline fine if done privately but not at markets etc. Online be careful or find a good way to cover your tracks offshore hosting in a country without good piracy laws and a way to be paid that does not lead directly to you

Apart from all the reasons cited in the thread above, it is now easy to download them from the Internet anonymously and free. If I was still trying to sell them, apart from setting myself up for a big fall, not many people would be interested. I can find any movie new or old, porn, software, games by doing a simple RapidShare search for the download links. I set up my downloads to run through the night and have, on average, 5 movies ready for me in the morning plus other downloads and that's in a 5-6 hour period as I don't have time to sleep.

That said, there are still many tourists here in Thailand that purchase them but the Glory Days are gone.

Times have changed! In the U.K....where I am from originally. It is now such a Nanny-State you are not allowed to think for yourself or be enterprising and it is simply not worth the risk.

Go out in a Hoody, mug or rape an old lady and you'll be given Community Service or an ASBO. Sell Pirate DVD's and you'll get 30 years. Not really but you get my point that the whole Justice system in the U.K. is f*cked up...as you know as you still live there. Punishment does NOT fit the crime in the U.K.

...And I'm sorry, my heart does NOT bleed for the Studios who claim Pirates are taking away their livelihood when they can announce squillions of dollars income over the launch weekend of a third-rate movie.

Some people simply make too much money or have lost touch with reality. Go ask a Coked-up Hollywood actress the price of a loaf of bread, if you don't believe me.

You can take all the precautions in the world but believe me the movie industry and well as the music industry dont take this lightly. You would be better served to find something legit to promote. Stay away from anything that will get you thrown in the pokey. Good luck!
