I posted a similar thread but got only a couple responces. I tried changing the title but couldnt so have started another, sorry for the inconvenience.

Basically I am toying with the idea of selling pirate dvds. My job is under threat and am now currently taking home half of my usual income. Anyway, I know a couple of suppliers I could take orders from online and take a percentage. The problem is Im not sure where I could advertise safetly or create new customers?
The dvds are mainly movies, adult, ufc, games, etc. If anyone could me any sites, ideas or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Believe me I wouldnt be doing this if I wasnt desperate and worried about losing my home and providing for my family.
    Cheers

I agree selling pirated Movies, purchasing and reselling chinese cracked video games, computer software (e.g windows os, etc etc.) and basically anything along those lines is asking for serious trouble. Selling trademarked products like hairstraighteners or items that are less likely to get you caught, would be far easier and less likely to result in a lawsuit for violation trademark infringment laws. Its just to risky. Leave it to the chinese....Way easier ways to make money. Good luck though whatever u decide to do. Hope that helped, if anything do your research first, and weigh the benefits with the consequences, Its like spamming myspace, if you can make 8 mil and get sued for 1-2 mil, then hell ya why not do it, but not when your looking to make a few thousand, and risk getting sued for thousands if not millions. Making a quick buck isn't always the smarted route, especially if its highly illegal

Yes . . . I have to agree with the other members who have posted on this thread. Giving away pirated stuff is one thing, but selling pirated stuff can get you into a hell of a lot of trouble. Why? . . . Because you can be traced through whatever payment system you are using - whether it's Paypal, checking account, your physical address, PO Box, etc. . . . You will be leaving a trail.

    Not A Good Idea.

do this locally and sell only to your friends if you to start this kind of business.

make sure that enough people are doing this in your area so you can blend in with them.

Police doesn't care if people download a movie or have some illegal programs on their PC... They only care at the point you try selling it and then they are suddenly very quick at your door.

Only do this with friends and people in your area as the police won't mess around with locking you up or sending threat letters to your door.

And even if you do it locally don't mess around and don't go telling everyone has they are a lot of people who are connected to the police and higher up.

Anyways i have given you my advise.

I use to buy Pirated DVD's from a local indoor Flea Market from this really cool dude for like $5 a pop, the quality was excellent, and he even had the nice covers and shit to go with the DVD. One Saturday morning, I'm in there and it look like Feds or something was packing up all his shit. This guy had like 4 long tables stacked up with movies, and I asked on of his "table neighbors" what happened, and they said he got caught by the Gov.

Then I go back a couple of weeks later, and I asked a few people if they knew what happen to him, and they said he's getting like 5+ years of Prison time, plus he's getting sued by 3 of the top major Studios.

Dude probably made BANK, but in the end... he's fucked like you wouldn't believe. He was a really cool guy too.

Use to sell these when i was a lil lil kid once (or did i any fbi who are reading this)... sold them to everyone and anyone at school and made a killing.... even brought one of those machines that changes the disc for you etc..... finnally after like 3 months i got called into the principles office and told to stop..... (got off well i think)

I then moved onto them really cheap drumstick lollys and 10p chew bars selling them for 30p to 50p and selling 100+ a day easy just in the morning.... never got stopped for that but i was putting on alot of weight myself so gave it up. Was making like £30 profit a day from that which was ace getting paid to go to school lol

Then my final year i started smoking... looked on ebay for lighters and brought 600 of them in bulk for like 4p a lighter.... showed a few people how to turn em into flame throwers (i.e. pin them) and also how to make em explode into a fireball i.e. chuck em onto a flame so they exploded.... sold nearly all the 600 within a week for like 50p a lighter... and sold like 3+ to each person in the same day.... Eventually by the monday of the week when i had like 30 left to get rid off... i arrived at 8:30am then sold all 30 just on the bus and all i had left was a massive turbo welding lighter i brought 2 jet thingy that melts anything... really.... Then some stupid kid decides to light fire to the carpet in a lesson and was asked where he got the lighter from and tells them my name... they empty my pockets and my bag and find this amazing lighter but luckily it was empty so i couldn't be done for any destroying of school property... end of story called my parents and my mum said 'why don't you deal with it in school ive got things to do' LOL shut the bitch up... went home mum asked me if i had anymore lighters left and i sold her my last 2 that i kept for myself and she paid me 50p each for them.... was an ace week and made like urrrrm £270 - £300 profit ha ha

see kids you can make money while ya at school :)

I wouldn't sell pirated ones (the Feds WILL get you, it's not worth it), but for a while, I used to do pre-order DVD sales on eBay, then the week of release, I'd buy a bunch from Wal-Mart (back then, they always sold DVDs at $13-$15 on release week). I'd sell them for $22 total on eBay. I'd clear about $200-300 a week, but, it was TOO much work packing, labeling and shipping all those bad boys. That plan might still work, but the margins are getting too narrow (at least for me).

i like your idea of making money!

But i doubt this would work as most kids will tell you where to go which usually ends up with the middle finger here in the uk. But yeah it was easy to make money at school back in the days. :p

Years ago I was on the way back from London when I bumped into a friend of mine who told me about this market in Bishop Stratford I believe. Basically everyone was openly selling pirated games, DVDs, cigarettes and what looked like stolen goods such as PCs and laptops. It was a big market with thousands of people walking around and nobody seemed to mind. In fact, I saw a few police cars cruising around and minding their own business. I still don't have a clue how people got away with this but I assume they did because one of the guys been selling there for years apparently.

Suppose it depends on what sorta school you go to really.... town schools = salvia and other legal highs will sell well

County school with no shop for miles and sometimes the only time people get sweets is when they brought from me = gooodd profit on sweets

lighters are fun for anyone especially when its wrong or whatever when you are like 12, 13, 14 , 15 and even 16

I also sold pens to kids who didn't have one lol like them cheap bic ones £1+ each... sometimes homework photocopies for like £5+ but i was pritty good to start with then i started copying from others lol...

One of my friends brought some phone memory cards from china in bulk and sold them for like £30+ and cost him like £10 each (was still less than ebay price and then people were cool with lots of music on their phones)....

Oh and my school started charging for tommy K (ketchup) and so i went to mc donalds in town every saturday and stole like 100 of the fuckers... after a few days word got round and i sold them for 5p each and just had like 20 of them in my pocket a day at lunch and sell them to the table... 20 covered the whole table and i made some small extra bank just for walking into mc donalds on a saturday when i was in town anyway and then selling them at school. (that was small scale but still cash).

Man i did soo much money making methods at school

It's not worth it. The market is flooded and if you actually become successful it will not be long before you are getting letters from law firms. There are easier ways of making money online.

Selling bootleg DVD's or any other intellectual property isn't blackhat...it's just plain illegal and you may find yourself paying restitution or having a new roommate named 'Bubba' that has a fetish for fresh blackhatter fish :yield:

Yeah you are really going to have a hard time providing from your family when your behind bars. You better make sure you put enough aside to hire the lawyers you will eventually need. I have had some dealings with pirated software and some people I knew went to prison. I got sued for 1.2 million and that was no fun and the lawyers are not cheap. While you are going through the process they threaten you will all kinds of evil things that they are going to do to you and you don't know for sure what is going to happen until its all over.
