Exactly. Somehow, old sites seem a lot more reliable than "newer" sites.

There are many such sites existing like this. Personally I use an healthcare website, where the index page is not so cool but after logging in, you will see a roller coaster design. Or might be the case that they don't spend money on web sites and redirect those funds to their core business.
