(Posting again as it's not allowed to do revenge posts, re-did it to just ask for help, my bad!)
Hello there BHW.
Would like to start with thanking you guys for building this awesome forum for everyone to take part of the knowledge here. Have spent many hours browsing, learning about different YouTube tricks, SEO and so on. This has helped me build a channel that I think will be my main income soon.
Everything was going fine until yesterday, when I recieved a Copyright Takedown on one of my videos. (Doing video compilations / reviews so I know it's a risk).
The thing is the person who Flagged my video IS NOT THE COPYRIGHT OWNER OF THE MATERIAL.
I checked his channel and he has similar compilation videos as me, in this video cliff diving fails. The videos are mostly "homemade" random videos from all kinds of people. I am 100% sure that there is no way in hell he has ownership on all of those videos (He's at 100 subscribers..). Is it possible that he just completely bullshitted YouTube Copyright and claimed the footage as his own? Can he do that just to destroy his competition?
As I am not the owner of the clips I can't really dispute the claim can I? I have messaged him but not gotten an answer. Should I take contact with YouTube and explain to them what happened? Just want to get rid of the Copyright Strike and get my video back up because it was gaining a lot of views.
Would really like to know if there is anything I can do about this.
Best Regards,
Andreas
