Hello guys!

Since 22 of April, Meta removed the possibility to connect apps to Facebook Groups (you can check here the update: https://www.facebook.com/help/261149227954100)

I was using the plugin 'Revive Old Posts' to auto post my articles on my Facebook groups (since I have +50) and obviously stopped working.

Someone with the same problem find a way to overcome this barrier?

Thanks.

To automatically share WordPress posts to Facebook Groups, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Using IFTTT (If This Then That)

  1. Create an IFTTT Account:
    • Go to https://ifttt.com/ and sign up or log into your account.
  2. Connect WordPress and Facebook:
    • Click on your profile icon and select "Create" to start making a new Applet.
    • Click on "+ This" and search for WordPress as the trigger service.
    • Choose "New post" as the trigger event and connect your WordPress account by following the prompts.
  3. Set Up Facebook Groups as the Action:
    • Click on "+ That" and search for Facebook Groups as the action service.
    • Select "Post a link" or a similar action that suits your needs.
    • Connect your Facebook account and authorize IFTTT to access your groups.
  4. Customize the Post Settings:
    • Configure how you want the WordPress post to appear in your Facebook group (e.g., title, excerpt, link).
    • Save the action and turn on the Applet.
  5. Test and Monitor:
    • Create a test post in WordPress to ensure it triggers the action correctly and appears in your Facebook group.

Method 2: Using Plugins (like Jetpack or SNAP)

  1. Install and Configure a Plugin:
    • Install a plugin like Jetpack or Social Networks Auto-Poster (SNAP) on your WordPress site.
    • Activate the plugin and go through the setup process, connecting it to your Facebook account and selecting the groups you want to post to.
  2. Configure Posting Options:
    • In the plugin settings, specify how you want posts to be shared (e.g., automatically upon publishing, at specific times).
    • Customize the format of posts if the plugin allows.
  3. Testing:
    • Publish a test post on WordPress to verify that it correctly posts to your selected Facebook groups.

Method 3: Using Zapier

  1. Create a Zap:
    • Sign up or log into https://zapier.com/.
    • Create a new Zap and set WordPress as the trigger app.
    • Choose "New Post" as the trigger event and connect your WordPress account.
  2. Set Up Facebook Groups as the Action:
    • Choose Facebook Groups as the action app.
    • Select "Create Post" or similar depending on the Zapier options.
    • Connect your Facebook account and authorize Zapier to access your groups.
  3. Map Fields and Customize:
    • Map WordPress post fields (title, content, URL) to the appropriate fields in Facebook.
    • Customize the message and other settings as needed.
  4. Test and Enable:
    • Test the Zap with a sample post from WordPress to ensure everything is set up correctly.
    • Once tested, enable the Zap to automate the process.

Considerations:

  • Permissions: Ensure that your Facebook account has sufficient permissions to post to the desired groups.
  • Automation Limits: Some methods might have limits on how frequently posts can be shared or the number of groups that can be targeted.
  • Formatting: Check how posts appear in Facebook groups to ensure they are presented as you intend.
By using one of these methods, you can automate the process of sharing WordPress posts to your Facebook groups, saving you time and effort in managing your content distribution.

there isn't a current way to directly replicate that functionality with a third-party app
