So I have a problem right now. I am a Wordpress beginner and wanted to ask you, if it makes a huge difference if I just take a pre-created page from there and make small changes...
Or should I create a whole new website from scratch? And where do I get quality pictures for my website then?

If the pre-created page gives you a fundamental design that fulfills your requirements and is easy to edit, go for it.

where do I get quality pictures for my website then
Depending on your niche, you can search on Google like this, "Free Stock (keyword) images"

found this thread a few weeks back and I bookmarked it, it might help you find copyright-free images:

makes no difference (but I assume you're talking about design)

Or should I create a whole new website from scratch?
you'll end up doing it anyway if you intend to make money with your WP site. Otherwise, if you're doing it for fun or to learn WP you don't need to bother with creating a site :)

It depends on your project; if it's a specific project, you'll build them with a fresh design; otherwise, you'll essentially do it using a pretemplate with the bare minimum of changes. You may acquire free high-quality images from websites such as unsplsh and pixabay.

Best wishes for your brand,
