WordPress Landing Pages?

So after conducting what seems like endless research on IM and affiliate marketing, I have finally decided to take some action. I am testing different techniques and methods discovered on this and other forums.

My question to all is if anyone knows how to create landing pages with wordpress. I am looking for the cheapest method possible. I am not comfortable coding my own site and am not really in a position to hire someone to do it for me. I am already familiar with wordpress for blogging purposes and would like stick with this format. I have searched and searched for an answer and just when I think I got it, a page pops up asking for my credit card and $197.

I'm hoping that someone can offer some insight into my problem or at least direct me in the right direction.

there are free templates .. just look in the download section

There are drag and drop frameworks for wordpress. Woo themes have that option if I remember correctly. You can drop the elements where ever you want and make professional looking pages easily.

It is not free, but you know how to get premium themes for free....
