The correct way would be to use a child theme with Thematic framework. I believe you should have thematicsamplechildtheme folder in your thematic theme folder, copy i and paste into themes folder.

Open that child theme folder now, and then open functions.php

Paste this code there:

It will require some basic html knowledge. I just gave you pointers how to replace default stuff in thematic framework. You can also find more help on the official thematic pages.

That is really wide error. Was website working before? Do you have access to cPanel?

Yes, it is true, i you do not renew, you will lose redirection. If you can, renew it for one more year and let the redirection running, till search engines completely forget about the old website. Then delete it.

If not, just let the domain die and thats it.

I transferred the data in the span of 2-3 months. Process is completed in may 2012. The renewal is expected in July. Is it enough time for SE to forget?

Is it necessary to delete all the posts from old domain? This can be done at this stage, till I can access the cpanel and wp.

It's not. Just let the domain die.

I want to start off by saying this is a great addition to the community..

I started a basic blog at wp *cm and changed the theme to whatever it is now. I want to change my current theme to a PremiumPress Theme that i've came across and downloaded. I have the files on my computer but am not able to activate/install/upload it via Appearance>Themes> usually suggested (I'm using wp* cm). I've came to realize that wp* cm and wp* og are two different things of the same thing. I'm under the impression that wp* og is simply a downloadable format of the wp*cm platform that's meant to be used with other hosting services. (Am I correct?)

*How would I go about about uploading/installing/activating this theme using wp* cm?
*Would I have to upgrade the account to "Pro" in order to do that?

I appreciate your efforts in advance, I tried to lay this out as best as I could.

I have made a featured post BOX which shows post from the category "featured"

But the posts are even showing in the recent posts.

Can you please modify this code so that when the post are checked for the featured catergory , they should not show in the recent
posts

Yes, you are right. WordPress.org is just for downloading and hosting WP on your own (and themes, plugins etc.)

I can not confirm this, because I never went pro with WP.com, but I believe that even with the paid membership you can't upload your own themes, but you get access to some premium one.

I think the best option would be to go on a self hosted wp blog.

I submitted sitemap for new domain , I have used wp 301 redirect for TLD , still TLD does not redirect to new domain
Shall I use "redirect" option in cpanel of domain manager(c panel of hosting)

Yes, you can definitely use cPanel option for tld redirection!
