    Hey,

I played around with automated backlinking on a wordpress blog. (hosted on wordpress.com, a free one).

For an experiment, I spammed it to hell, literally, and now after penguin 2.0 (what an irony) its sitting on #1 for a 4.400 exact match product-name.

I really didn't think this spam will work (i was literally using wordsalad and backlinks of extremely low value). It's an interesting case-study ...

Well, of course i want to make at least a few bucks with that page now.. but I discovered that wordpress obviously doesn't allow me to put a picture with an affiliate link onto its hosting.

I hosted the picture on a seperate webspace and linked to it - this worked of course. But as soon as i put the affiliate-link to amazon onto the picture, it was broken.

Is there a way to get around that?

    Best Regards

You will have to cloak the link or maybe use something to shorten it.

Here are a few threads posted on the matter..:

I haven't gone through them, but maybe they will help.

I'm sure someone will come in and help you out as well, but in the meantime try to search for what you can find.

    Best of luck.

Use free image hosting (imageshack and tinypic) and use bit.ly or another URL shortener for any outbound links. If you link to or feature too many images from one domain they do mass ban.

Lost 300 Wordpress.com blogs a week and a half ago. Luckily it only took 15 minutes to setup the script to recreate them. Youtube is for chumps.
