Hey guys,
Is there a list of WordPress based blog platforms somewhere around here?
Didn't find it myself, would really appreciate help finding or suggesting any websites you know that allows you to open a blog free of charge and on the spot - based on WP.

Have a look at this thread it has over 1000 free blog list, many blogs here use WP as blogging platform. You find yourself by trying each.

You mean web 2.0 sites that are using Wordpress as their back-end? If yes, then you will have to check through the list of popular web 2.0's and identify those that uses wordpress.

You can use sites like:

builtwith.com

You can also try to check if the web 2.0 domain has an admin page:

try like: web-2-0-blog.com/wp-admin

I also think their is a firefox plugin that can check a site's platform, although I can't remember the name now.

There is nothing wrong on wordpress blog platform mate.
Explain your question so that people here can help you in all means. I am not clear about your question. Or tell us what you planned to do with these blogs?

I need to choose 10 good quality high PR blogging websites, to which I need to upload posts RETROACTIVELY. which to my best knowledge, is only possible with WP. so this is what I am looking for, 10 different blogging sites with the ability to post under past chronological dates.
