There are plugins that can migrate your shopify store to woo. Cart2Cart is popular.

Correct, however there is an overwhelming consensus from the press releases outlined as well as eCommerce community that the majority of large scale retailers are utilizing Woocommerce or Magneto for their eCommerce needs.

Think about it...if you're a medium to large scale operation, you do not want someone to be in control of your assetts as well as dictating what you sell and how you sell it. You're going to want to own every part of your business. You essentially renting with Shopify and owning your property with any other self hosted solution.

Nope, that is the problem I'm having with your statements. I don't see anybody saying large scale retailers are using woocommerce. Which large scale retailers? In terms of sales or visitors? Like hundreds of thousands or even millions of traffic per month?

Obviously you haven't done any research to make the claim that "I don't see anybody saying large scale retailers are using woocommerce". Hell, you were asking me to do the research for you earlier, which really doesn't even show you have any footing to stand on.
I'm not about to do extensive research for you, just to prove a point that you will find mute regardless of how much evidence I present. For you, your simply blinded by some sort of righteous belief in "being right".

Point #1 - Major retailers use Woocommerce and Magento - view an example list below

Point #2 - The majority of eCommerce stores are run by Woocommerce and Magento. You can look this up on several press releases, Youtube videos, etc etc

Point #3 - major retailers want full control of their business, not to be held hostage by another corporation for their assets and proprietary information, along with following guidelines and policies set forth by your own eCommerce platform. You can use "common sense" for this one, right?

This took me less than 5 minutes to uncover. Here are a few larger scale operations that use Woocommerce

Now if you want to tell me how your dearly beloved Shopify stores are better (not easier) to run, how they own more of the market share of eComm platforms, or how corporations just love to utilize Shopify for their mega corporate stores, because they find their platform more appealing than others, then please do. I'm all ears and ready to learn from your vast array of experience and profound knowledge on the matter...LOL.

Haha. Does this sentence mean you actually haven't done extensive research before making such a strong positive claim?

I have looked up Clickbank, Duracell, Mens Health and Entrepreneur Bookstore. None of them are actually running ecommerce stores. Look them up yourself.

It means exactly what was stated. No extensive research was done on your behalf. You can find those stores with a simple google search. If you're too incompetent to do so, then I rest my case. When you want to do your homework and/or actually present something worth noting on your behalf, please do so.

If you plan on doing high volume you better pay the $29 per month for Shopify. Google "Shopify 60 days trial" and you'll have 60 days free to make sales and pay for it. Hope that helps.

@michaelch you're obviously just a Shopify fan boy. I use both platforms and I like woocommerce for the flexibility.
Shopify is too basic and the cost can go through the roof if you want all the bells and whistles.

I'm actually a wordpress fan. I use wordpress for almost all of my sites, except ecommerce.

How much does it cost for woocommerce with all the bells and whistles?
