Woocommerce or Shopify

Shopify is $30 a month to start and has a free ssl and can handle a lot of traffic but isn't too flexible and cost can easily ramp up with add-on apps where as woocommerce provides a lot more flexibility and loads of free and good plugins. Shopify is very simple and straight forward and woocommerce requires a bit of knowledge to get started. is there anyone who has used both and according to you which one's better?

I've used both extensively (clocked 500+ hours on both platforms) and I like Shopify better for stores and WooCommerce more for review sites. This is because Shopify saves me a LOT of time with handling orders and is a bit faster and optimized.

For Wordpress, I use review type kind of sites because I like how you can customize your review site to meet your on-page expectations and to make your site look unique. Also plenty of good plugins to use as well.
 
I tried both. Personally I used woocommerce for a service i was selling and used Shopify for physical products.

I would say I like woocommerce, because it gives you more control from a webmaster's standpoint.

More plugin options, more theme options, more customization options, full control and the other reasons already been said above me

Shopify has supreme customer support though but they getting more expensive every time. A while back the most expensive theme was $80 and it's already $180 and that is without the subscription and any subscription on plugins which is why I hate Shopify.

Everything has monthly subscriptions, where woo is free, themes are cheaper, many free plugins and premium plugins are OTO or yearly, which I prefer because I'm a greedy fuck.

*WooCommerce is an open-source solution built on top of WordPress, The biggest difference between the two is in the setup. WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress which means you need a WordPress website, install the WooCommerce plugin, and then setup the store.

What do you think about alidropship plugin by yaross as compared to oberlo ?

I personally have used it and it's great. If you do have to use Woocommerce, then you should use his plugin and it is very optimized for good conversions.
 
It all comes down to personal preference. Would you rather set everything up starting from SSL to payment gateways or just use pre-built templates for the sames(Shopify)?
Shopify will definitely save you A LOT of time and has everything you need but Woocommerce just gives you more freedom with customization. I use Shopify.
 
I used both. If you are experienced with woocommerce, woocommerce will save your cost. But shopify maybe easy for newbie though need some money. Also there are many order fulfillment apps you can use for your shopify store. For example, we are using a Free fulfillment app called ChinaDivision shopify fulfillment app. whether you are doing drop shipping or fulfill orders by a third party fulfillment company, they are also ok.

What's the benefits of that particular app please?

can you recommend my some good Woo commerce theme and plugins? I just start off and don't know anything about it. to be honest i don't even know if it were a theme or a plugin
 
Ill give my vote for Woo, since I love having everything in my hands. A way more options to choose and custom themes.

try Avada, very flexible, frequently updated, support a hell lot of plugins.It cost but you get what you paid for.

If you have an ecommerce website and fulfill orders by yourself, you need warehouse, fulfill order (pick pack) by yourself or hire someone（increase your cost）, inventory management software, discounted shipping fee is also very important. As to benefits of these Apps, for example ChinaDivision shopify fulfillment app, you can install their free app. When your orders come, orders can be sync to their system, then they pick, pack and ship your order directly to your customers(no tax), and their system can sync tracking info to your website automatically. By the way, those fulfillment company also has discounted shipping rate, etc. For more, you can find by yourself.
 
Well I've gone with woocommerce this time around and this is my first woocommerce site, I can easily see why a lot of people prefer shopify over woo, at the very beginning I had a bit of problem but as for now I feel I have a grasp over a lot of the functions and features and thing I'm loving the most is no more recurring payments for plugins xD
