Hello! I have made a website in which you can create memes in under 5 seconds. I know that the market in over saturated with meme websites, but do you guys think that I will have a chance to rank in the first page, and since my website is a "virgin" when it comes to SEO, what do you guys think I should avoid to not affect negatively my website, when it come to positively, if you guys have a tip other than what's been said in the basic SEO threads, please do share them! thank you guys in advance

If you're serious enough about it, then:

1. You should have a good design that's user friendly. Not something that looks as if it were put together in a day.

2. Find a nice, non spammy-looking way to keep adding content, like a "best memes" section.

3. Focus on making/duplicating some really funny memes and trying to get them to go somewhat viral (with your website URL on the bottom/top). Social networks like Facebook and pinterest are your best bet. Also, youtube videos featuing "top memes".

4. SEO for that niche is going to be tough, but it's still an important factor unless your website gains popularity right off the bat. There are some great services around here you can check out ;)

Use SENukeX. We all know that for the new sites they Work very well.
Then start sharing the Face book page of your site in different accounts and different pages. it will increase the visibility. then start using the ScrapeBox.
thanks

I think the website is done, the best thing about this website is that it has one job and one job only, atm it has no ads no signing up no anything, lemme know what you think guys please: meme-captain.com

Man, are you the creator of the meme captain script? Cause I have used it before ... And in my opinion, you can't do anything with that script, since it's very bad for seo. It has only one page.

Consistent anchor-text Backlinks and SENuke (or something similar) - that's all you need these days to knock out most of the competition.

You will have a struggling with this one. Try to make tons of web 2.0's, forums posts, accounts, etc. and blast the sh*t out of them

I like it but as some have said, will be uber tough to seo. Keep adding more images too man, you have to have tons more and then blast them everwhere you can.

why is it bad for SEO, there are 1 page websites that rank well

Not sure whether it helps but as I was getting about 10 or more 'funny pics' showing up on my Facebook stream every day I thought about uploading them to a website. I started doing it around one month ago, to a blogger site, I have not optimized this site at all, done no SEO on page, no back links and no promotion yet still the site has had around 1000 visitors! It seems to me that if you set a site like this up correctly, did SEO and backlinking you could get some serious traffic and perhaps monetize. How to monetize is the issue as adsense are not keen on sites without content, pictures don't count apparently.

There are a couple of downsides to a meme site. The first is that this is probably going to be a poorly converting audience. The second is the SEO problem, since you're up against some huge sites. If I were you I'd start posting images with your link to reddit, 9gag (I know, I know), and ***** (if you dare) and try to get some real users
