Will Telegram taking 1st place over whatsapp?

In the January, Telegram is the most downloaded app. Is it the beginning of competition to Whatsapp .

In India, WhatsApp download has been moved 5th place , the main reason as change in the policy in terms of privacy. Many people sending message against WhatsApp in WhatsApp itself.

How are you guys seeing it. What make telegram for this surge.

Telegram is not secure so they aren't really doing themselves any favours if they are concerned about privacy
 
It is tough to adapt to a new layout, all the friends still chatting on Whatsapp

I think that this would never happen. Telegram is featuring a rich app and more features mean more confusion to use. So user finds it confusing to use as features wise. WhatsApp is too easy to use. Its User Interface is too easy to use and even non-technical guys will lower education can use it easily.
 
Well this ain’t a issue to discuss much about has its known WhatsApp is more noisy than telegram and most officials are leaving WhatsApp for telegram bc of the advance chatting api
 
I don't think that telegram will ever be more popular then WhatsApp. But i prefer Signal already. Its the best messenger at the moment.

Both are good points mate. Even i am not using telegram as much as whatspp. but somehow the buildup is going on . May be from the big org promote like that.
 
It might eventually match it in popularity but not surpass it. Most people are just too comfortable with whatsapp even if they installed telegram already.
 
whats'app always will going well as 1st messenger app there is no doubt and no other option to beat it.................
 
They have the same background, and we're not questioning the quality, but the privacy issues. How's Telegram REALLY better? Why do you have to tell your phone that you need SECRET conversations when that should be the DEFAULT?
At this point, unless Signal moves to a default „no-displayed-phone-number” policy, there's no REAL reason for a switch to another platform.

I'd love to see a REAL competitor in terms of privacy, I'll be the first one to switch.
 
suckerburg will come up with something eventually to push it back to #1

I think you should install grammarly before whatsapp or telegram
 
It don't matter to me, I use both. It matters to people who are involved in doing political bullshit all day long.
You are not gonna see much difference if you do whatsapp or telegram marketing.
 
Would be cool to see someone else take the throne from WhatsApp, a safer option, if possible.

But, I doubt it'll actually happen because WhatsApp is just too popular & a leader.
 
It could be, my parents moved to telegram because they think telegram will never steal your data.
