Google has just released the August 2025 spam update: “Today we released the August 2025 spam update.,” Given that the previous June 2025 core update already rendered many parasite SEO tactics ineffective, do you think parasite SEO can still survive this latest update?

If they don't, others will surface.

Parasite SEO won’t completely die, but it’s becoming increasingly harder. Google is clearly targeting authority abuse with the June core + August spam updates. Weak pages and mass-scale parasite tactics will likely get deindexed fast. However, if someone builds on truly relevant authority sites with strong content and natural link profiles, it may still be effective just on a smaller scale and with more risk than before.

1 parasite goes down, another one takes its place. It's cat and mouse game that google are forced to play every few months since they can't possibly prevent all sites from ranking (well, unless they intentionally block everyone or take their own business down, of course, which AMEN to that :D )

True, this has always been the case, but it seems this time around, Google is specifically targeting the whole process. The last update significantly reduced the effectiveness of some indexers, making them far less effective (%) than before. It feels like they're systematically dismantling the infrastructure that parasite SEO relies on.

I can't say anything that I've not already said in the previous post. So I guess we will have to wait and see.

Personally, I'm not affected by google's shenanigans since I have no websites anymore, so I couldn't care less what they're doing to their search engine. But I will keep an eye on this out of curiosity! And I still think that other sites / opportunities will emerge, it's always like this... and not just in SEO...

It's definitely getting harder with every new update, but the movie sites never cease to amaze me. :D You will know without much effort how the parasites are working if you only focus on such niches. :D

Good for you, I must say. These days, doing SEO, has become nothing short of a grind. I was looking into an exit strategy this year, but it seems Google has other plans for me. :(

It's always interesting to see what other spammers are doing, not to copy them, but just to observe that it's still working. Seeing that gives you a sense of hope that you can indeed achieve similar results yourself.

Parasite SEO has been a playbook staple, but with each new update it gets riskier. Even with smart tactics, it’s tougher to stay undetected when Google is honing in on shady anchors and low-quality hosts.

Surviving now means leaning harder into value and legitimacy. Stronger hosts, better content, and subtle integration are the only ways to keep parasite methods from getting nuked.

At this point, it's less about volume and more about playing clean—but still clever.

Parasite SEO isn’t gone, but it’s definitely not the easy play it used to be. The sites that still stick are the ones where the content actually fits the host and doesn’t scream spam. Even then, the wins don’t last long. At this point it feels more like a short-term tactic you use while testing other approaches, not something you can build around long term.

No site sets out to be a parasite. People discover the sites being favored at whatever moment, then use them as parasites.

So, there'll never be an end to parasite SEO. Unless Google completely stops ranking websites.

Good point. With the June 2025 core update already weakening parasite SEO, this new spam update seems like another direct hit. Google’s clearly tightening the net around low-quality or manipulative strategies. I think parasite SEO in its old form is almost done, but those adapting with genuine authority sites and value-driven content might still find limited opportunities. Long-term though, building sustainable assets looks like the only real way forward.

I strongly agree with this. Its just shifting our focus from one to another. You just need to find another if one is caught in the process. And I also think that in some day the blocked websites will also revive :P

parasite seo wont die but last shorter you should try 100 parasites at same time
don't relay on just 1 site

flood it

This is good advice. I'm in my 30's now with two decades under my belt. It took me until my late 20's to not rely on rinsing one method and then it felt like the world was ending when it stopped working. Diversify, multiply.

"Observe the masses, and do the opposite" applies here in terms of planning/adding additional funnels.

there are so many angles to use parasite seo
the key is to use in a non obvious niche
this way you can stay strong for year or so

This is also a good move to work on multiple parasites at the same time. Then you are always in the market for so long.

The problem is to find an effective parasite and a flow of it on a regular basis.
