I have a niche site with a .in domain with around 30 articles. The niche has much more potential globally, but the .in domain is the only limitation.
If I purchase a .com domain and redirect it to my website:
1) Will it impact negatively on my site in terms of SEO?
2) Will a .com domain help me get more traffic and show my site in more countries than before.

My .in domain is premium but traffic is not good in my country. On the other hand, the same niche has 100X more traffic in the USA. Please tell me how to switch.

1) if you recreate the exact same URL structure and content on the .com domain, and then 301 redirect the important pages (usually the ones with traffic and / or good backlinks) you shouldn't see any negative SEO impact. If you get any of these steps wrong you might have problems...

2) .coms are very global TLDs so yeah, they'll pull traffic from all over the world

Local domains can and do rank globally. A .com won’t automatically boost your site in non local searches.
