ClickBank is a goldmine if you know what you are doing - unfortunately too many people think they can just throw up some weebly 2.0 websites, spam the hell out of them with GSA Search engine ranker and then sit back and make millions.

If it was that easy we would all be doing it!

Research - it?s all about research

One of the biggest problems is that people need to do their research before promoting ClickBank products and pay particular attention to information in the ClickBank Marketplace.

Look at the affiliate referral rate - what percentage is it? I always try to go for affiliate referral rate of at least 80 percent - this means that 80 percent of sales are being made by affiliates like you which means affiliates are making sales.

Take a look at the gravity over time - is it going up or down and more importantly find a website that shows a graph of the history of a vendor. Draw a line between the start and end points of the graph and see if it's increasing - a simple concept but too many people miss doing this basic step. See image below for an example of this

    GravityIncreasing.jpg

About gravity - this is the quote from ClickBank themselves

Again, too many people put an emphasis on ClickBank Gravity; a product with high ClickBank Gravity obviously sells but can also mean that a vendor is over-saturated e.g. Too many people are promoting the product and it may be near impossible to rank for the vendor easily.

Instead look for websites that offer more information about how a product is performing - if you have a paid membership to cbengine then it's under the menu link "the cbinsider", alternatively qlickbank.com has the momentum page which uses the same algorithms as the stock market to predict products that are more likely to sell - these pages change daily so keep checking back to keep ahead of others

Keyword research - this topic has been covered extensively elsewhere so there?s no point in me covering it here other than saying this: Leverage an existing SEO website such as http://tunemy.website to spider the main page of the offer you would like to promote.

    tunemywebsite.jpg

Once the results come back scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the ?Show / Hide Test results? link - this will expand the results for the associated page (See below)

    tunemywebsiteresults.jpg

From these results you can see the meta tag title, description and keywords (Where available) but also more importantly http://tunemy.website also extracts and displays the main Header tags used throughout the page - use these tags as the basis for long tail keyword research or even as long tail keywords (See below)

    tunemywebsiteheadertags.jpg

Type your phrases / keywords into Google adwords

As previously mentioned I won?t go into this too much as there is plenty of existing information on proper Keyword Research but always use some tool to see the search competition for your keywords. It?s pointless ranking for keywords that no-one searches for and likewise you may find that some of your keywords have insane competition.

Finally, type your phrases / keywords into Google itself and see what comes up - if the top results are a single youtube video and some spammed ftp sites (see below) then bingo - these will probably be very easy to outrank.

    searchresult.jpg

All of the above is obvious but so many people miss the basics!

Oh - one last thing; PDF sites work well - create a PDF file of the offer, embed your affiliate link, upload that to a PDF hosting website and then create links to the PDF website, nice and easy, people will download your PDF file and then may well share it all the while your affiliate link stays inside the PDF file :)

What PDF sites should you use? Well let me help you with that

I hope the above helps you make some new sales on ClickBank - Peace!

Just want to chime in. The gravity of the product isn't necessarily very important at all depending on how you are promoting it. What is more important is that the product is good so that the customer won't refund it.

If you're running paid traffic campaigns linking directly to the sales page then sure.

But if you're promoting via content, then how you pre-sell the customer on the offer is infinitely more important. If they're prepped to buy then the sales page/gravity doesn't matter. One of the products I promote I pre-sell so much so that I don't even link to the sales page (I send them directly to the cart page for purchase).

Just ask yourself....Would You Buy It? If the answer is no, don't promote it.

I don't agree with the 30+ gravity thing, I promote some products that have 10 gravity or less and they give me some good income

Clickbank is full of scruffs who want for free and do charge backs. I would not waste the steam off my piss on ClickBank. There are far better places to direct traffic, money and time to. And surely if you could make a good wedge from Clickbank, you could milk the fuck out of other none Clickbank related niches.

Well do say more...for example what do you consider to be "far better places" and what niches are you finding lucrative these days?

Gambling. Because if I rank a website for play poker, play roulette, play slots, the people who hit my site want to do one thing and one thing only, and that is blow their money.

Now you see with Clickbank, it is like shopping, and shopping for free to many. When someone shops they are looking for a deal, people who gamble are looking for a fix.

Thanks for sharing this, It's a lot of help.
I disagree with the 30+ gravity tho as you may find success in a lower gravity products, it all depends on the targeted traffic you get.

To my opinion gravity is more important than any other parameter. What do you think.

Yes but also take into account the referral rate! As an example this is an affiliate I would not recommend promoting - look at the graphs on the page specifically - Gravity is going down but more importantly the referral history is only 12.5% That means that only 12 percent of sales are actually made by affiliates!!

Nice tutorial! I agree with the gravity, I think gravity is overrated. Friend of mine makes $700+ a day off products with a gravity of 5 or less. I've also made a mint off products with a gravity of even 1. I would rather not sell what everyone else is selling.

I started that way about 5 years ago. It worked for a short period (earned couple of hundred), than my videos got flagged and deleted. :(

You can probably try and see if it's any way around getting your videos treated as spam. Or just publish more and more...
