I feel like walking is one of the most underrated habits ever.

Everyone is always talking about intense workouts , but honestly even a simple daily walk does a lot better mood , more energy , clearer head .

Whenever I have been stuck starting at a screen too long , going for a walk just resets everything . Weirdly , some of my best ideas come when i am walking instead of sitting there trying to force focus .

And the best part ? It is actually easy to stick with . Way easier than those complicated workout plans people quit after a couple weeks .

Simple stuff you can actually do every day perfect plans you never follow .

Anyone else feel like walking helps mentally just as much as physically ?

not only walking, if possible talk to yourself during this walking activity, reflect about what can be done to improve your life, etc...afaik, our brains work better when we're active; you'll have better ideas when you think while walking than when you do it in bed

Same happened with me. I have a rule that whatever happens I have to go for a morning walk for a minimum 1 hour without any gadget. In that 1 hour I feel like I am developing new ideas, stress level start to lower & I can feel that upon completion of 1 hour my mood gets better & I can focus on my work with full efficiency& commitment.

Sounds like a very good habit, I will mix this with my Gym routine.. NO gadgets sounds like a dream in our reality!

Walking clears your mind boosts mood and keeps your body moving more than just gym grind

Since the start of the year I put aside one day every week to go for a long walk. Initially it was to get some physical exercise but my trauma therapist highly recommended it for having a quiet time to process traumatic events. I walk a little bit further every 2 weeks, and I'm up to 6 miles now. Which I think is pretty good factoring in my asthma as well.

I really enjoy it and look forward to it for the most part, and even on the weeks where I had to really push myself out the front door I've not regretted it. It's helped me a lot, I think.

I usually walk along the Rochdale and Manchester Ship Canals in Manchester and it's really quiet along there aside from the occasional jogger and a lot of geese. Works perfectly for me.

Walking is one such exercise that we don't even realise is an exercise. It'll improve both physical and mental health if we make walking a part of our daily routine instead of treating it as an exercise.

One of the best parts in walking is, zero injuries!

Running or any intense work outs might harm our legs or body parts, but walking does zero harm.
You can tell this to my ankle. Have at least 5 injuries throught my life due to walking and stepping on the side.

There's a lot to say about the psychology behind walking outside vs on a treadmill (for example), what with the substantial stimuli your brain gets from being physically outside and experiencing changing scenery, fresh air, sunlight, even small things like uneven terrain. It goes a long way. It's also actively engaging so all of that really fires up the synapses, haha. Makes ideas flow more easily, naturally (for most people).

Totally agree with this. Walking feels almost too simple to be as effective as it is, but it really does make a difference.

ever since my widow maker heart attack nov 2020

This isn't exactly true. There's still injuries that can happen, like rolling an ankle walking on a perfectly flat surface. Ask me how I know this. o-O

walking is best for your physical and mental health. I think there should be 10-20 minutes for a daily walk. Walk gets more enjoyable with a Campanian or it can be full of creative ideas like how to become Elon Musk. if you walk alone.

You should hire a trainer, this might help with walking.
