Hi SEO Folks,

I have seen sudden drop in my website avg position on 16 oct 2021 for India location. But my impression goes up. What can the reason for this? How can i justify this?

Does anybody else seen this behaviour on 15-16 Oct?

Probably more pages started receiving search impression. That's usually the reason for such change.

So i have seen this behaviour on 16 oct where my impressions suddenly spiked but avg position is suddenly dropped. Clicks also increased but CTR is slight down as per the comparison with previous day (15 oct).

So have abybody else seen this bheaviour & what can cause this type of bhevaiour?

Its natural, google is expanding your content's reach but that doesn't mean you're also getting the rankings for KWs that Google is testing your content for. Also, in today's context no rankings are absolute, you have a no. 1 ranking doesn't mean you're the only one have the no. 1 ranking unlike the past. Now there could be 3 different sites with no. 1 ranking, for different audience, location, demography or even the timing of searches.

Hope that helps.

As @HenryObi said, more pages of you are being indexed. Supposing you had 3 pages and 30 keywords and your average position of these 30 keywords was 5.

Then, 7 new pages of yours have indexed, and now you have 10 pages and 100 keywords. As long as these new 7 are recently indexed pages, they are ranked in lower pages and the average position of your all keywords (100) has also lowered. Give them some time, if your articles are well written and optimized they will surely climb up over time.
