Long time lurker first time caller so hi and take it easy on me :)
Also quick thanks to the hive mind here, I've learned heaps over the last few months reading threads and found some really useful advice.

Context

I have a niche adult site I built which is about 1.5 months old. It's currently averaging 150 - 200 unique visitors per day. There have been a little over 3000 unique visitors and 8000 page views to date. Metrics are trending in the right direction as organic search traffic is slowly picking up.

This is my first adult site although I have been a web developer for 10 years + so building and running websites is not new to me. However I don't have a lot of experience with running ads to make money.

I wanted to dip my toes into ad revenue. I figured that while my site is still so small and unlikely to convert any traffic to higher paying CPC or rev share offers that I'd run with CPM, so to this end I have been using Adsterra (rightly or wrongly).

Question

As per below, just 272 impressions and 5 clicks from the UK have brought in $0.257. However 1789 impressions and 30 clicks from the USA have only brought in $0.082. What gives? That's roughly 600% more engagement yet only about a third of the revenue.

Is it that Adsterra just doesn't pay as well for USA traffic? Could I have misconfigured something? Maybe my sample size is too small as I don't yet have that much traffic to draw any conclusions? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I contacted them today about the same issue.. just about different countries
I was really suprised to see that for them, India, which as far as I know is a tier 3 country has a cpm of $0.289..while Norway only $0.055
The explanation I got was:

"Also, take into account that ad impressions do not equal site views: a user may open a site and may not see ads, so there is a site view, but no ads' impression."

Use the search function you will understand why something not going right with them.

How much total revenue are you getting with 150-200 visitors? And what ad types are you using?

Because your cpm is based how welll the traffic performs. It’s not fixed. If their advertisers offers are not converting on your site the CPM will be low.
Some people have crazy high cpm, because their traffic is high converting. Like a direct link in a download button, stuff like that.

I’m in the process of moving to Adspyglass and adding other advertisers in the mix so it will be easy to drop Adsterra in future.

Very little revenue yet (unsurprisingly). 20 - 30 cents per day running banners and some popunders with the frequency turned way down.

Right now I’m mainly focused on learning about selling ads etc, I will start pumping out more website content soon and hopefully drive the organic traffic up over time.

I made a subreddit for my site which already has 4.2k members and growing. This has been a good source of traffic, plus many of my Reddit posts that link to my site rank in the top 3 google results.

traffic arbitration for adsterra directlink on popads has anyone tried it?
