actually, one of the main reasons i love internet marketing is that it allows for the possibility of creating "100% digital" business models that consist of nothing more than a website. to me it means low overhead, low maintenance, the ability to automate large portions of it with bots, freedom to work from anywhere, no clients to deal with.. basically completely minimizing the amount of work i have to do.
the inherently high volatility and transient nature of such a business is what offers the most potential for really really fast optimization and adaptability because there aren't any physical factors slowing it down. i can implement & test new ideas as soon as i think them up, with no startup costs.
while it's true that business models like this have a propensity to vanish into thin air overnight, they can also be re-created from scratch just as quickly. so as long as i have my brain, i'm not worried about going broke.
of course this kind of stuff isn't for everyone. some people hate internet marketing for those exact same reasons i just mentioned.
gurus have a tendency to create unrealistic expectations, but being disillusioned by that certainly does not imply that you can't have the lifestyle you want.
